Yep Steve I still have all the old software too.

I used Responsive Layout Maker in my College Graded Unit which was back in 2015. Also Webform Builder to create the contact form.

The one disappointment for me is that Webform Builder hasn't been severely upgraded to include CSS3. I am not a fan of Form Designer or the process of building in one and then duplicating in the other. The webform builder is the real kit and makes forms brilliantly and because it provides scripts this should have been the CC concentrated their work

Yes I completely agree with you there. I have mentioned that to CC many time that they should have included that in Web Form Builder as many people would buy it assuming the features were there. I still use WFB, usually use the Default Responsive template and style it a bit with color for my websites.

Anyways happy building

Well Uwe, If I was to agree with you we would both be wrong.

The subscription model has not made the software cheaper. We used to buy the software at a price and it was yours forever and ever with updates and support.
With Subscription your paying every year for the software with a very slight reduction on renewal but if the software has a long life span you are paying a lot more for it than you used to. However I concede a company still has to bring in revenue.

My only beef is the amount of the renewal cost. 70% is way to high. That is why I say many will let their subscription expire and only renew when there have been lots of new features added.

Now I am away to have my apple and pear crumble.:)

Coffeecup is not Adobe and I know that! These are two absolute different companies. I only can say: if you as customer don´t recognize that you´ll have to change to Adobe in the next years! Than: there will be no Coffeecup any longer! Coffeecup makes wonderful software. I think, we all know that. What´s the problem, to support this. It´s a meme to me: next door it is cheaper for me …

Like it or loath it developing & supporting software costs money and I think t makes sense if you are using the software regularly you want it supported so paying a (small) percentage of the purchase price is quite normal on an annual basis.

However:
* Companies that do this continually develop their software they don't charge for their technical previews (was I the only one who paid for Bootstrap builder & foundation framer?)
* They have a published road map for their products - not just dropping products on a whim.
* They build fully rounded apps (Web designer with no scripts still feels like I was mis-sold).
* They add features to their software not sell you a side product that should have been incorporated with the main product (how was responsive content slider & menu maker not part of the responsive site designer?)
* They integrate their products (not just give you a box to copy & paste your HTML into).

On the plus side it does cause you to evaluate where your priorities are and I hadn't even noticed that my form designer had expired so I guess that solves the question of whether I will renew...

I now find I have 18 days until responsive sight designer expires, will I renew? I've seen nothing that makes me think I'll get value out of a renewal maybe it just prompts me to shop around... I really like the Coffee Cup software but I have found it somewhat unreliable at times and clunky in operation - maybe it's time to bite the bullet and follwo industry standards.

Mines expired a few week back. There have been no new updates since May so like you I questioned why would I renew. I came to the same conclusion and didn't. I didn't renew Form Designer either and will probably never renew it as I don't like jumping between apps to get a working form. Web Form builder is a great app but should have been updated to include all the Form Designer stuff or better still everything integrated into Site designer.

Yes, I do not see the logic in updating right away either. Wait for the good stuff and extend your (1) year subscription then. Still waiting for a simple little <img> tag....I will pay right away for that one !
