I tried an experiment for this. I downloaded the site file to desktop, openned index html file with notepad and changed the h-tags thus:h1 to h3
h2 to h2
h3 to h1
h4 to h6
h5 to h5
h6 to h4
saved and then openned html file with browser and found that the headings css was all wrong so the experiment revealed that can not change them in this manner.
Seems to me that the time you have spent messing about trying to find a short cut solution to a problem which doesn't have a solution could have been used to do the changes manually to h1 and h2 tags and probably already finished.
This use of h1 tags for site or company names as h1 tags has been around for a while it's not new Gogle made an announcement abut this aND a few othe thinges a while ago now I cant remembe ezaxtly when . It's a shame that there isn't an easy solution one would think that there would be but you will just have to grasp the nettle and do it manually for the time being..
Well it is not easy to figure out a manual long way method either have been on that for awhile now. It wants to stick with how it is and the multi color h1 is a monster.
Unless I am misunderstanding what you want
I have just changed the H1 on every page to an H2 Header, with the same multicolor, took me 10 minutes
open a new blank page
Copy the h1 into the new page
open edit text for it and place all the colors into the color pallet so that you have the colors available
Insert an H2 header into the new page
set the typography shadows sizes etc the same as the h1 header
open the text editor and highlight each character and change color to the corresponding color on the H! text
when done make it a symbol
starting from the index page select the original h1 header, and then insert the new h2 symbol (because you had the h1 selected the new h2 will be inserted below that)
Wham Bang Boom in goes the new h2 multi colors symbol
delete the old h1 header
repeat for every page you want to make that top header an h2 header
took me longer to weite how to do it that it did to actually do it
Great, Wayan! My head is so dense from my 'homecoming cold' at the moment, that I wasn't able to think that far.
My Internet played up again yesterday, that's why my first reply to the post was blank, I don't know what happened & couldn't download the file. bow back to normal but for how long is anybody's guess
I have just changed various h2/h4 headers on different pages to h1 headers using copy text (in the text editor) then inserting an h1 header below, pasting the copied text, and applying the same styles etc
Took me a bit longer about half an hour
so all told not more than 25 minutes to change all headers around on all pages.
Get better soon Inger
stay warm & healthy
Sorry I have been changing the header numbers of the index pg. still have to put in the other add to pg stuff before uploading took awhile to change 4 of them left 2 and 5 the same changed 1,3,4,and 6. Thank you wayan I will give that a try on the next pg just have only 12 pgs to do.
By the way, the headers also no longer need to be in a particular order now not like before so you can have an h4 header above the H1 header
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
