Well it is not easy to figure out a manual long way method either have been on that for awhile now. It wants to stick with how it is and the multi color h1 is a monster.
Unless I am misunderstanding what you want
I have just changed the
H1 on every page to an H2 Header, with the same multicolor, took me 10 minutes
open a new blank page
Copy the h1 into the new page
open edit text for it and place all the colors into the color pallet so that you have the colors available
Insert an H2 header into the new page
set the typography shadows sizes etc the same as the h1 header
open the text editor and highlight each character and change color to the corresponding color on the H! text
when done make it a symbol
starting from the index page select the original h1 header, and then insert the new h2 symbol (because you had the h1 selected the new h2 will be inserted below that)
Wham Bang Boom in goes the new h2 multi colors symbol
delete the old h1 header
repeat for every page you want to make that top header an h2 header
took me longer to weite how to do it that it did to actually do it
