Thanks Inger again. Your help has been amazing. I thought I would share with everyone that I also found a resource video on how to use the background video element in Site Designer. It is super easy. Takes care of a lot of things without having to code or make a lot of changes.

Hi Phillip
I used a VPN to see the link but I get a message

vimeo.com normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Brave tried to connect to vimeo.com this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be vimeo.com, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Brave stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.

You cannot visit vimeo.com right now because the website uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

Is that really you putting the link up??

Hi Phillip,

I used the Video Platform because I was not able to find what format the video had. I tried the Background Video first, but it didn't play at all, it was just searching for the right format and MIME type.

Maybe the 'Anonymouse' can tell us what format the video was in originally.

Nope sorry
I asked someone in the USA to do a partial screen recording and send it to me, I then convert it to MP4

as you can see it works perfectly with MP4

by the way I did post a reply right at the beginning about letting us know what the video format was,, but it seems to have dissapeared

Update
Hi again Philip & Inger sorry to butt in again
as an example
I converted part of your video to mp4
there is Unfortunately no sound because its very early morning here and everyone still asleep, but sound normally would be ok no problem,
here is a sample demo
its using the full background video component set to autoplay loop etc (not recommended for mobile /tab / tablets etc devices, )
(video stored locally because I can't use vimeo etc here, & I don't know if you can store MP4 videos on that platform )
with overlay (text/gradient )
should you wish to convert your video to MP4 I can do it, I dug out an old app that I used to use, and would you believe it still works (a bit slow but works non the less)

UPDATE

Just in case anyone is interested
I have had a load of trouble with coffee cups s-drive today
so I have moved the sample video demo tp

https://rsdtutorials.mawarputih.asia/index.html

It's only temporary there as that is my real site for the video tutorials

Hi Philip
I hope that you have managed to get the video working now as a "full screen background"
fairly easy once everything is in place.

anyway please excuse this, but I really feel the need to impart a little bit of food for thought here

Hero background videos are becoming the rage for 2022 (hero background sections with images have been the thing for quite a while now).

However:
There is however a problem with hero Background Videos, especially ones which have sound and are are over a few seconds long

1a/ Auto Play ~~ Loop
The problem with those parameters is that supposing the visitor decides to scroll further down or up the page (if you plan to make that possible) The video will continue to play and start again if the user is still on that page,,
1b/ It is possible with a little bit of custom JS code inserted on the page that the video can be paused or even stopped IF a visitor scrolled away up or down a prescribed number of pixels (up or down),

A much better solution would be to have the video controls option so that they can stop / start /pause as they want.

As a courtesy to your visitors, (should you continue to have auto play / loop set as default you should then consider having a little bit of information as to the length of the video, so that they can make an informed decision as to whether to continue (especially for those that maybe on a metered connection rather than un-limited).

I am sure that you have probably already thought about all of that, I just felt the need to say a little bit about that just in case.

I am taking down the demo thingie I did as I am sure that you will be able to get it working,, however the offer still standa about converting it to MP4 if you haven't already, just let me know and it shall be done.

In the beginning, Phillip had posted the same question twice, in two different groups. I deleted one of the posts to avoid having two parallel going discussions. I checked before I deleted it, there were no replies. But maybe you posted at the same time? :o

Could be no matter now it seems he has got the solution from that video on Vimeo but how they get it to work if it's not MP4 I haven't a clue
