I am using Background Video Container - I have my source video on YouTube and copied the URL for the video into the Background section of the design tab of the styles section. The problem is that it is playing the wrong video when I preview it in a browser

Then you must have copied the wrong URL. Maybe you copied just as it was changing over to the next video in the play-list, or maybe the link includes an advert video? If you let us know which video, we may be able to grab it for you.

Okay must be doing something wrong. I moved my video to VIMEO just in case I was getting the link wrong and pasted it in Styles/Design Tab/Background/Resource/URL/https://vimeo.com/677735783

Instead of my handbell performance I get an Adventure Motorcycle video. The same one I was getting before when I was using UTUBE. I must be putting the video link in the wrong place.

https://vimeo.com/677735783 is the link for my video. I have put that in my browser and the correct video comes up.

If you could help me I would appreciate it.

I have a wee demo again, check https://www.dropbox.com/s/sufo7w73uawbj … o.rsd?dl=0

I used the element Video Platform. That made it a foreground video. But since you wanted a background video, I made the video semi-translucent and then popped a new div, the '.text-layer' on top of it, position: absolute. You have to give it the distance to the parent, which in this case is the body, I set it to zero, but left the distance to the bottom at 'auto', otherwise, you wouldn't be able to start/stop the video.

Now, I don't know how wide or how much of the page you want to give to the video, so this is, again, just an unstyled thing.

I had posted the above before I saw your screenshot. If the video is to be displayed further down on a page, create a container first, give it the width you want to use, and maybe center it (if that is what you want). Then make it position: relative.
And then proceed as I have demonstrated and explained above, popping the video and the .text-layer inside that container.

It was fun watching the video. I used to be an elementary school teacher, and I also taught music. The nearest we ever came to your 'instruments' was with bottles filled with water. (Hard enough now that most bottles are made of plastic.) ;)

Hi Philip
Sorry to but in, but the problem with most browsers (especially for mobile devices) is that it isn't that good an idea to have videos (especially with sound )that autopay.

It would be fairly easy to achieve everything you require if your original video was a MP4 format, have you tried converting it from whatever it is to MP4, there are plenty of online video convertor sites out there (freebies too but watch out for watermarks on some freebies)

Update
Hi again Philip & Inger sorry to butt in again
as an example
I converted part of your video to mp4
there is Unfortunately no sound because its very early morning here and everyone still asleep, but sound normally would be ok no problem,
here is a sample demo
its using the full background video component set to autoplay loop etc (not recommended for mobile /tab / tablets etc devices, )
(video stored locally because I can't use vimeo etc here, & I don't know if you can store MP4 videos on that platform )
with overlay (text/gradient )

should you wish to convert your video to MP4 I can do it, I dug out an old app that I used to use, and would you believe it still works (a bit slow but works non the less)

Thanks Inger again. Your help has been amazing. I thought I would share with everyone that I also found a resource video on how to use the background video element in Site Designer. It is super easy. Takes care of a lot of things without having to code or make a lot of changes.
