Hello. Im showing in my back office RSD was just updated again on 12-6-18. How much will this upgrade cost to existing users of RSD?

Do you mean SDv3 or RSD v2,5 (which hasn't been updated for ages)

There is a change log thread on here where Suzanne Norvell has been announcing new versions... but she's been silent on the 12-6 upgrade. The last update logged was on 11-19...

Wait. There's a responsive site designer and a regular site designer? I'm confused. I thought site designer was short for RSD....

If you already own Site Designer V3, then it's an update not an upgrade, updates are free if you already own it. go to
your purchases" (under profile) look for Site Designer, it will tell you that there is an update available(green background) so you just click "download"
If Site Designer isn't listed in " your purchases" then you don't own the software & you can't update it.

Not looking stupid at all

RSD is RESPONSIVE SITE DESIGNER (the old one)
SITE DESIGNER is exactly that. site designer v3 (which is RSD with bells & whistles & all things nice)

The problem is that the team at cc for whatever reason they know best made the NEW one close (same colour icon/same .rsd extension) (I suspect that RSD will disappear into the wasteland of old out of dated apps in the future, in the meantime it is confusing

SDv3 has many many different features, "not least of all, the ability to do your design/layout in the CSS grid framework, it has fallback first (for older browsers that don't render flexing, it has display flex, for those browsers that do recognize flexing, & tons of other cool features.

It is a vast learning curve to get going but once mastered (or at least confident to use, it is great software)

BUT WHATEVER YOU DO, do NOT open a project from the old RSD app without first saving a backup version somewhere, just in case.

old RSD project files can be opened with SFv3 which then converts it to the new way, if you then save a project file with SDv3 you will not be able to open the project file in RSD (hence the backup just in case)

For all your RSD project files, to open them in RSD (rather than SDv3) you need right click the project file & choose "open with" then you can choose either Site Designer or Responsive Site Designer.until you are sure you want to make the switch.

Thanks Wayan! I actually havent started my project yet. I'm really glad you told me this otherwise I would have built the site with RSD instead of the newer shinier SD.
