I did not know there was a 125 page limit on site pages in site designer, but what I want to know is how to add more pages without disrupting the css?

Do I go in and delete pages with similar css, then open up those areas to add in new css?

Hi Zoe the way I do It is to create separate project files for the relevant pages (depending on context) then once those pages are ready, export them and place the exported files into the main project file and link to them using absolute links on the main page.

so for instance a product, that has 10 variations, the pages are created in a project styled etc etc the nav links and any other links to the main pages are given absolute links back to the main pages.

The main project file would contain for example, the home page, contact page, login page, (possibly the about us page (or team member profiles etc

I even do this even if the number of pages is going to be around around 50 or so, because Site designer gets virtually impossible to use and can cause errors (Like you are and have experienced.before

Yes time consuming and delicate work to make sure everything works hunky dory, which is why, to be honest, for a site containing that amount of pages is probably better dome with HTML editor.

Okay, so I want to make sure I understand you.

1. I make a main project file and export it.

2. i make a separate project file and export it.

3. I take the exported separate project file and add all files into the main project file?

Just want to make sure I'm hearing this correctly

example: I put "side project_exported" into "mainproject_exported" without removing any file like css, etc?

That's basically it but making sure all the links back and forth connect so that the user doesn't know or even care it's a seamless experience.

By the way the page limit of 125 is well above average for most wysiwyg website building apps except for WordPress which is unlimited pages (using a similar process, but built in) theirs is unlimited pages which in a way is what can be done with site designer.

The way you describe it here, it sounds to me that you will overwrite your main project files with those of the side project.
What I do is upload the files of the exported main project, and then I make a new folder inside it, to which I upload the side project files.
I have explained this before, several times (maybe not exactly to you), using my component library as an example. What you see in the attached image is the folder structure of the mock-up domain on the S-drive. Between the folders pertaining to the main project, you will find five folders that contain the components for the five different frameworks or layout systems for which I have created components. You will see that the entry page for each framework/layout system is part of the main project, but all the rest of, say the Bootstrap framework, is inside the folder 'bs-comps'.
This way I can do the necessary 'house-keeping' at the server.

Okay, when i add in a new version of the site, will I need to correct the css folder as well? I'll reach out to my webhost to confirm before doing it, but I have updated one part of my site with the corrections but it still does not show up properly due to older versions of the pages. Im thinking of doing an entire sweep of everything except for the media, and I hope that will work, once I have the files together.

If you, by 'adding in a new version of the site, mean that you recreate it in SD, there will be a new CSS file created automatically. I'm speaking of the file 'main.css', which is the one file that will be populated with the CSS rules you are adding to the site. The other CSS files that come with the framework you're using should not be messed with.

As far as I remember from what you have written earlier, the live site is working, but you cannot open the project file to make updates, is that so? If this is correct, I think I would leave the existing site in peace for now and recreate and upload the new version temporarily to a different site, like S-drive, or so if you don't have any other domain. When you have the new version done and dusted, and have seen that it is working, then I would clear out the old (first) site and replace it with the new one.

My next question is a framework refresher. I am using foundation but recognize that the dimensions for the laptop is not as ideal in spacing. I'd like to ensure that I have multiple breakpoints aside from the first three that are given.

Which additional breakpoint sizes would you recommend?

There are only 2 given breakpoints with Foundation and to recommend breakpoints, especially for mobile devices is a bit like asking how long a piece of string is.

The whole point of adding breakpoints is to follow the layout, move the slider up slowly, when the layout breaks, stop, ask yourself a question

"Can I fix the layout with a small adjustment to something?" if the answer is yes then make the adjustment. and carry on upwards, If the answer is NO, then add a breakpoint, make your adjustments to make the layout look ok and the continue upwards.

Addendum

This might be a bit late, and I don't know if it's just for me (as in some setting I have used before for new Foundation framework) but when I open a new project the default position for the slider opens at a width of 360px, which is usually where I give the first breakpoint (if in-fact my design requires one at lower levels. It might even need to be a bit lower, but one can always drag it down if needs be.
