Theme creation? - Post ID 84678

Hi all,

When I bought the software nearly two months ago it was indicated to me that there was soon going to be a theme creation add-on so that we could create or build or adjust themes. Has anything else happened about this yet?

If not, how are people creating their own themes? I can deal with basic HTML coding but I have looked at the shopping carts created by the software and ... well, it's a mystery to me, lol!

Is there a simple tutorial somewhere that could help, anyone know?

Thanks!

You can get the themes for the cart and home page for the cart at this link.

Thanks Ambassador, but I want to be able to create my own. I do my own graphics and web sites, have done for about 12 years, but I have never learned php and when I bought Shopping Cart I was specifically told that they were developing a way for us to edit/create themes - I understood it to be via the program itself in some way.

Anyone else have any insights, please?

Scott posted yesterday an update on the "Styler" program that is almost done. It is under "Theme Carry Over?" post.

Good question...I was able to edit and create my own themes in 3.1 as this is essential in order to provide clients with the basic branding they need. However I downloaded 3.5 and had to uninstall it as the files are ...sct file and I can't fiqure out where they are...so with all the good that 3.5 has is useless if you can't edit/make your own themes...unless anyone out there knows what to do to enable this to happen???? if you want me to post how to edit 3.1 please ask...otherwise stay away from 3.5 as it looks totally unprofessional until we figure out how to edit the themes.....

good luck

The .SCT file is just a ZIP file. You can explore the contents of that file with any zip program. You can then make any modifications you like.

Just remember, any changes you make are unsupported by CoffeeCup Software.
