hi,

is there a way we can implement a flat handling fee in SCC? say, if a customer orders 1 item unit, the handling fee is $5. if he/she order 10 units of the same item, the fee is still $5.

please advise. thank you.

Looks like you'd be able to do this in the Shipping Options section of Shop Settings. Just write a description and amount in the boxes to the left...

It also looks like specifying a Minimum Charge would also work.

hi chuck,

thanks for the reply!

yup i found that option as well, but the flat rate i have in mind will be applicable to one type of item. other items have their own rates too. so, it's actually more of a per item basis, rather than a certain amount added to the total cost of the items in the cart. do we have workarounds?

I think what you would need to do is choose the minimum postage you would charge on any item and use that as your base charge and then add any extra needed at the item stage.

It gets a bit tricky if that item needs an extra postage but you want to give a discount for multiples.

What I would do is add a bit to the checkout page to say that if postage is less than quoted at checkout you will give a refund on the excess amount ...and that is really easy if you are using Paypal as your payment option.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
