Hi, we have just started with this error which you can see in attachment. This has only just happened and its been up and working for a long time. Its V3.9 -- 4355
I've since tried uploading to a different folder, installed CC onto a different pc, made a new CC shop with just one item etc. and it still fails. With new folders blank on the server when looking with filezilla it does make a few folders like ccdata, csstransactions as seen in second snip so it is connected with ftp.
I wondered whether it is PHP version as 1and1 have updated to 5.6 unless we pay extra!!!!
I've completely turned off avast anti-virus so thats not the problem????
Please help.
Chris

Looks like it may be a permissions error to me. Did you change the server to https by any chance?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Thanks Eric. Just looked on the server and it does say Protocol : SFTP, Port : 22.
If so how can I change CC settings to secure ftp?
Thanks
Chris

Check with your host on the requirements for SFTP and then go into SCCP and alter your ftp setting under the Server settings

Thanks again. But I've looked at server help which says "Host name or server name The server name provided in the Secure FTP section of your 1&1 Control Panel, User Name Found in the Control Panel (i.e. u12345678), Password Not shown in Control Panel but can be reset, SFTP compatible FTP client FileZilla, Core FTP Lite, WinSCP, Etc. SFTP port 22".
I've done all of those, checked it will connect with filezilla using sftp, changed settings in CC to sftp over SSH, tried passive mode, allow insecure certificates etc. etc. but still not connecting properly. I get " Testing server status, then could not connect to server: an internal error occurred".
Treble checked password and tried connecting to another website with different password credentials.
I'm at a loss????
Please help Chris

I had issues trying to get hooked up to an ftps site with CC's Direct ftp. I kept trying different things and finally found the correct combo. The one thing I've found is that the same server settings don't work for all apps.
