Does Paypal = Payflow with Shopping...

Hi All,

Paypal have a gateway option called Payflow. My bank in Australia supports this. We already use the Paypal option at checkout, but I was wondering if anyone had tried Payflow with the Shopping cart? It would make life much easier if the $$ went straight to my bank account rather than sit in Paypal's account to the mercy of fluctuating currency markets.

Thanks

I have never used it myself and I am pretty sure it will not work because of the API we use with PayPal. I guess you could try it out and see. If it does work, post back here if you can.

Good luck !:)

I glanced at the Payflow offering from PayPal and would say it won't work with Shopping Cart Creator. According to the information on PayPal's site, the customer inputs order information (including credit card number) on your online store. SCC does not support the input of information by customers.

Basically, it appears Payflow allows a customer to remain on your store's site without ever being transferred to PayPal to complete a transaction. SCC does not collect any customer information other than what items a customer is ordering. This information is then passed to PayPal for completion of the transaction.

Hmmm that's what I thought.

I think I need to investigate authorize.net some more but again I dont believe they support Australian merchants and I'm positive my bank doesn't support that gateway.

I love your products Scott and to this date haven't seen any need to explore anything outside of your product set, but currently the only checkout option I can use is PayPal. Because we sell solution sets and not individual products the ticket value sometimes requires a person to join Paypal to finalise the transaction due to the $ amount, which is not an option we want to push onto our customers.

If I knew you were heading in an API direction I'd be happy to wait or are there any other gateways you have planned in the short to medium term that you could let us know about?

Cheers
Glenn
