Hello,
I am in the beginning stages of creating my store. I want to list me items at retail, and offer a percentage discount that will be applied at checkout. How would I do this? I use paypal as my payment gateway.
I have to have a generalized discount at the end because some of my publishers do not allow me to list items at a discounted price.
I hope I make sense. Thanks for any and all help!

The cart itself cannot do this. You must either configure this option through paypal, or wait until "coupons" are offered as and update on the pro cart.

You can also just refund the discount amount through PayPal after the sale.

Why would they do that because you refunded part of an amount? I do that quite regularly and have never had an issue.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Rest assured this is something that is planned for the Pro version at a future update once it's released. It won't be in the initial release, but we've been told on the forums a few times that it should be in an update not long after

Offering discounts is on the 'road map' for the pro version, but is quite a major chunk of software in its own right. Many owners would want multiple discount levels for different business volumes, or for preferential accounts, whereas others would want time limited discount vouchers for short term trade boosts. The discount module needs to accommodate all of those potential needs, so needs to be well thought out in its implementation.
