Here is the situation. I have already put in a support ticket, and I am not sure they know how to fix the problem. So I wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone else has had the same problem or if anyone might know a solution.

My Shopping Cart stopped working after installing Windows 7 32 bit. What happens is every time I go to publish the program crashes. Gives me an error message that says Shopping Cart has stopped working.

I have done all of the typical stuff: uninstall/reinstall, run as admin, etc. I am out of ideas.

What makes the situation worse is I have clients work that I can't get published, so I am slowly starting to panic.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Two ideas:

1.Did you try XP compatibility mode?

2.Win 7 pro? If not, can you upgrade it? That allows you to run an XP virtual machine on your system that is just like having a spare XP box. If it still crashed in that then you know it's not a Win 7 problem. Upgrading to pro from home is around a hundred bucks, but if it means the difference between losing a client...

I have ultimate (1 step higher than pro I believe). I have tried running it in various compatibility modes. I did XP first. Not sure if this means its the OS or the CCSC?

The virtual machine is more than just compatibility mode. It creates a complete XP machine on your system that runs independently. You get a true XP box at your disposal. You have to install some free stuff from Microsoft to do it but with Ultimate you should be good to go.

It makes the same error in all compatibility modes - XP, Vista, W7. I just ran it again to double check after seeing your link. Can't figure out if this means its the program or windows. It seems like it would be the CCSC since it is the same error in all compatibility modes.

Eric, virtual PC isn't compatibility mode. Did you install virtual PC and open up a second machine with it? You get a new desktop, new environment, new everything, all in its own window and it is pure XP. Not compatibility mode.

Looks like it will take all night to download. I will have to give an update tomorrow. Thanks spinny for your help, this might work.

Cool. You will probably have to re-install SCC in the virtual XP machine but if this really is a Win7 problem that should fix you right up.
