If you don't want to wait try open cart it's not as easy to set up, it's database driven, but it works NOW. Some effort to set up OK but it's Free.

We are sorry about it Nigel, we don't like it either. Although it is costing us money as well, we try to do the right thing here. There are no major roadblocks either, several people have been using the beta version for some time now, including ourselves. We are really really close, but just not ready yet.

Maybe having access to the beta would help you out. I will discuss with Scott what we can do for you.
The future of web layout has arrived and it's called CSS Grid. CoffeeCup helps you to get ready with a free guide, the Grid Builder app plus cool demos & themes.

Thank you Bob that may assist. Having access to the beta would at least let me learn my way around so when the pro is out I can jump right in and have a practical site up and running quickly.

I really do want to stay with coffeecup. I have got a lot of good work from using your products and would really like to to stay using them.

It is just getting so late in the day that I am going to have to take alternative options soon.

Thanks for the tip Alan, being an SQL database and VBA programmer that may be a route I may need to take if things don't work out here.

Me too please! And soon as I'm packed for a cross-country trip likely late next week.
Thanks

We are not going to start handing out the beta out to everyone who raises their hand for it. That would just become total chaos. ;)

The software will be ready soon and it WILL be worth the wait....

The beta test group needed to be kept deliberately small, otherwise the Coffeecup team would have been overwhelmed with feedback and suggestions, some good, some bad and some just plain 'off the wall'.

An ecommerce program serves just one purpose, which is to sell products for the site owner. Every function has to offer value to the mainstream user. I am happy to report that ALL the new features within the pro version will offer 'real world' practical benefits to shop owners and site developers. Whether your need is for effective stock control, a more accurate shipping module, validation of user input, or more effective display, then the pro version is going to tick many people's boxes.

Software going way past its expected release date is not that unusual an event. Zen Cart for example is now getting on for 18 months past its original release forecast for its new version. Ask enough times on that forum when the item is getting released however and you end up with your acccount suspended.

People have undoubtably lost money with the delayed release of the pro version and that includes shop owners, site developers, plus of course Coffeecup themselves. Not an ideal situation for anyone at the moment, but that status should change when the program finally hits the streets.

From what the past remarks have been, it sounds like a really good discount price will be offered for those that already own the Shopping Cart Creator Basic (current version) and any version of the Shopping Cart Designer. Exactly what that price will be has not been released as of yet.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
