Search box works on what data entry...
I haven't uploaded my cart yet, so I understand why my search box doesn't seem to work in preview, but I want to be sure I am adding my search terms to the correct data entry field... Any help?
Also, when entering the meta keywords, should I be using commas, semi-colons, etc. between, or just leaving a space?
Thanks!

Bump for answer.
Keywords are separated with commas.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
In the first question, I think he is referring to the Search button that is added to your website. Is there a particualr part of your website that this search box is "connected" to in order to gather information for the search, or is it all your data entered into your site? If that makes since.
The search seems to work on words that are in your title and description. You don't need to fill in any fields other than your usual product details.
Say you describe an item with "works with all makes & models of bmw" just as an example, if someone searches for bmw the item that description is with will also come up along with any items with bmw in the title.
Hope that helps.

So in other words, anything you type in the larger page text box will not be part of the search criteria?
I had not realized this. I need to do a better job in Title and Short Description then, I guess.

Yes, it will pick up anything in your long description. Sorry should have been clearer, but when I said description I meant your long description of each item, not the short description.
A slightly different variation..hope someone can help ???
What I am aiming to do is to email clients advertising new products etc and what I want to be able to do is to put a link in the email that lists all the brands / items regardless of the category.
for example:
I want a particular brand to be accessible from one hyperlink in the email (or other advertising or from other website links)
namely if a customer clicks on say...."for the new range of networking products from Tenda please click here to see our range" where the word "here" has a link that collates all the search results for Tenda brand on my site
When you perform a search through the search box it doesn't list anything in the url that gives any hints.
Hope someone can help !?
