How many of you use something other than meta tag info to advertise your site and what do you use? I'd wondered about the value of starting a facebook page, a twitter account, using craigslist. How do you all promote your shops ???

I hate Ebay with a vengeance BUT i love the referrals i get from their website

I have an ebay account with great feedback, once a month i list two or three items on a carefully written page even specifying what the included ebay and paypoo fees are, with my website email address as a contact detail

also my ebay name is one of my url's so most intelligent people guess how to find me and get it cheaper.

i think about 40% of my website orders originate from Ebay

Chris you can check your JH AWSTATS to see how clients are finding your site, and in my case which ebay listing they are coming from

Thanks Viv, I'll check that out. I had also considered just placing a shop site on ebay auction pics before an auction is posted but I like your idea, "for more info or any questions, contact us at www..."

Facebook pages, Google Ad Words, Google Places, and Facebook ads are all great places to start.

You are of course not allowed direct links to your site if you sell the same or similar items cheaper than in Ebay

So i do 30 day NON AUCTION listings 40p month

And for my full range go to my website or email 2enquire@.................co.uk

Best 40p a month i ever spend just pi....s me off when they still buy through Ebay, as in most cases with my products they tend to spend £20 to £40.00 more for the same item .
