Issues with Shopping Cart Creator

I downloaded the updates to the shopping cart creator yesterday 11/23. Now it is not saving my information, such as server info. It disappears each time I restart the software. The update lost all of my various online store info that was saved. However this version does not save it at all after it gets closed. Even after I hit save. Not to mention that after I hit save it informs me again that I need to hit save, even after I already have. It was also losing my PayPal keys and info. The final thing it is doing is doubling the cost of an item. For example my Golden Retriever Rescue organization is selling a calendar for $15. When you go to the view cart, it has doubled the price to $30. I can find no rhyme or reason for this and I have rechecked all of my entries. So why is this updated version acting this way and the previous version was flawless? I do need to get these issues taken care of.

It sounds like the FTP database has gotten corrupted. What you will need to do is delete the internal database so that you can start fresh again. This should fix you up. Here is where you can locate the database:

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings[username]\Application Data\SharedSettings.ccs
Windows 8/7 & Vista: C:\Users[username]AppData\Roaming\SharedSettings.ccs

Just delete that file and restart SCC and add the profiles back again.

I can go C:\users\Colin but there is no "APPDATA\ROAMING\SHAREDSETTINGS.CCS in that folder. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

It is there. ;)

You will have to turn on hidden files and folders in order to access this file. Here's how:

Windows 8/7/Vista
Open your My Computer folder. Select Organize > Folder and Search Options > View tab. Scroll down and select Show Hidden Files and Folders. It's also a good idea to uncheck Hide Extensions for Known File Types.

Windows XP
Open your My Computer folder. Select Tools > Folder Options > View tab. Scroll down and select Show Hidden Files and Folders. It's also a good idea to uncheck Hide Extensions for Known File Types.

Ok, I have found the file, thanks. Before I delete it I must ask if it is going to wreak havoc with other coffee cup software that I use, like form builder for example? Or other software?

It will reset all settings and S-Drive account information for any program that also uses that file.

Ok, this did zilch. My server settings are all gone once again. It loses my template, instead of an "add to cart button" on items it gives me a "view details". I have to go back and recreate each item now from scratch. This was not happening until this darn update was added. I have not changed my pc, operating system, etc. So I am basically screwed at this point. I would like to have my shopping cart working please.

"Add to Cart" and "View Details" is actually a setting in the software that you control (always has been). If you want "Add to Cart" then uncheck the box "Require user to choose an option". If you want "View Details" then leave the check box enabled.

Yeah I know that, I already explaind that I figured that out in an e-mail right after that one. All the other issues are still happening. No settings are being kept after exiting the software.

Don't exit the software then Colin. Easy fix. ;)

Seriously though, sounds like a permission issue. First, try running the program as administrator and see if that helps. If it does not, then start checking all your security programs. It sounds like one or more of them are not allowing the settings to be saved.
