Scott,
Please add me to the list for beta testing a new version.

I need stock control very bad and I can live with the in state sales tax problem for now. All of my items are one of a kind turned items made on a wood lathe. I had invisioned this software would be great for the arts/crafts people but without the stock/inventory control it's not for us. Yesterday I sold a hand made wooden vase twice. Once in the morning and then again in the afternoon. I was not here to manually remove the item from inventory. The lady was not happy when I contacted her and said it was already sold. Now I have to refund her money and she probably won't visit my shop again.

Lots of us need the stock control ASAP.

Thanks,

Hayes

I agree that inventory control is a function that would be nice to have. However, when considering how to allocate precious resources you should consider how the finished product effects its users. With the sales tax, it's a regulatory issue which can get you fined if a sale falls through the crack.
With inventory control, its more of a "boy wouldn't it be nice if.......". I'm no programmer, but it seems to me you would almost have to have a database to manage your inventory, wouldn't you? That makes a program much more difficult to use and makes it costlier.

Hi Charles

Right now I am not accepting any new testers for the pro version. Our goal is to offer a public beta towards the end of Q1.

That's amazing news, Scott! You guys must be working your socks off!

I have decided to use your lovely software, but only enable Google Checkout for now, as there you have the option of not charging anyone's credit/debit card before you ship. I also state very clearly in my policies that in the event there are two or more orders of the same item I go by the "first come, first serve" policy, and the "disappointed" customers will, if possible, be offered a similar item.

One of our desktop applications uses a counter field that the user sets with the quantity and as each sale is made it decrements that field. When it gets to zero, The item is 'greyed' out to prevent any further sales. It can be that simple.

Forget the inventory module - the tax in one jurisdiction capability is much more in=mportant

I would like to see the quantities issue resolved as well...
you mentioned something about a PRO version coming out? If I were to buy the Shopping Cart Software am I eligible for the PRO version when it comes out? I don’t want to pay twice (once for Shopping Cart Software and the PRO version, if it comes out)
Thanks

I don't have an ETA yet on the Pro version, but it will be a separate product. I am sure we will offer an upgrade price for previous users.

Will we be able to use the same data files that we have now our will we have to build the shopping cart from the ground up again. Just wondering if I should stop putting stuff into my shopping cart. At one time Scott you said something about the end of March for an updated version. Hope you guys can get close to that date.

You will be able to use the same files. The pro version will not be ready for March, but the version we have now will have quite a few new features pretty soon.

I need the inventory control as well.

I have a client that wants a web-based solution for registering clients in training classes with limited class size. I immediately thought of cc Shopping Cart, but can't use it because I can't limit the sales to the number of available openings and decrement as enrollments are made.

Waiting eagerly for the feature and will purchase it in a heartbeat.

Best regards,

Bob
