As far as graphics in the themes, there are 2 ways to change them. The easiest by far is to use the SCDP program. Or you can find the graphics on your hard drive (somewhere around /documents/CoffeeCup Software/Shopping Cart/Images and create your own image the same size as the existing image, then name it the same and replace the theme image. A lot of work, but it works.

But again, do you want to go through all that for just a few items?

That's right Holly you can not edit them. You are pretty limited to what you can do. Gunsmoke offered some great work-rounds you might want to try. Short of that if you want to edit the themes you need the Designer tool. Or use the themes as they are.

Unfortunately you will not be able to make changes to the theme with out the Shopping Cart Designer program. What exactly are you trying to change.

Actually you can edit them.

Find your theme's .sct file.
1. Make a backup copy of it before the next step.
2. Change it's extension to .zip (Right click change name).
3. unzip it to a different location.
4. Now edit this theme to your needs.
5. Now zip it back up.
6. Change the extension back to .sct.
7. Import into shop.

What exactly do you mean by 'edit'? What are you trying to change? Does the different themes load for you when you select them? Or are you stuck with just 1 particular theme?

I think what she is trying to do is edit a theme. She should have 10 preloaded themes to choose from but you cannot modify them easily without the Designer Program. Not unless you do what Eric suggested. Its a very hands on approach to editing your files but it can be done without the Designer program.

But if I am reading Holly right she is not a coder so she may not like this work around.

But all in all great suggestions Eric and Gunsmoke. This is exactly what I would do if I didn't own the designer program.

I guess Holly needs to tell us if she's trying to do it in SCDP.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Hi Steve!
Thanks for the quick reply. I just wanted to know how i can make a very basic page to place my few products on. I was not aware that I needed both software programs to be able to use the shopping cart creator. I have the VSD program and had assumed that it was enough, combined with the shopping cart program.

Hey Eric I believe all she has is Shopping Cart Creator.

I'd still like to know how many products? If it's just a few, just create your page in VSD. Much easier.

Hi guys,
Thank you all so very much for trying so hard to help me.
To answer your questions, o i do not have the shopping cart creator pro, just the shopping cart creator and no i am most definitely not a coder, LOL.

in all honesty I don't even care if I use a preset theme, i just want to be able to add my products to a page where I can maybe place my logo on top or even add a few other sentences of description about my website. Although the Themes options does in fact show 10 assorted basic themes, for some reason I cannot get into any of them to use them, or add any text. I'm so sorry if I'm not making this very clear.

I just need to make a page, any type of page, where I can place my products with their costs, shipping info. etc that will then be able to tie into my home page. If I have to make a home page from scratch in the SCC that would be fine also, but i have to find out how to do this.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
