Font Size Issues - Post ID 151306

I'm having a font size issue with both SCC Basic and Pro and was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same.

Whenever HTML code is added to a product detail page (or any page), the font size changes from 12px to 14px. The only way to resolve the problem is to eliminate all HTML code.

As an example, I can enter HTML code to create a list item on a product detail page, select the Product List tab, return to the Product Detail page, and find that text has been changed from 12px to 14px.

I have attached two screen prints to demonstrate the issue. I have submitted a support ticket but CC is unable to resolve the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Stupid question here, but does this upload this way also? Or is this just in the program itself? I'm also wondering if maybe there isn't a css code setup for the lists that maybe is overriding the normal css setups for the text?

Try it this way.:)

Maybe the built-in controls don't play nice with html code that is inserted.

Try this:
[[[<p style="text-align:center; color: #000000; font-size: 11pt;">This text is center</p>]]]

You can use named colors, hex colors, or RGB colors. You can use various other font styles.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I first became aware of the font issue with the live shop online. When I opened the shop file in SCC, I noticed some font sizes were changed to 14px. I changed all text back to 12px and re-uploaded to the server. It seemed to work but some font sizes reverted back to 14px in SCC (there was a mixture of 12px and 14px font sizes within the product details). I've not tried re-uploading the shop since removing all HTML code.

The <li> tags are used in SCC for creating menu items and have been styled to remove the preceding disc; that's why I was adding inline styles to adjust the margin, padding, and display the disc.

By the way, the issue occurs with any HTML code that is inserted, not just list items. So even using the sample code quoted by Eric would still produce 14px font sizes.

In the screen prints attached to my previous post, you'll see at the top that I inserted HTML code to load a "free shipping" image. This code and the text following it changed to 14px. It doesn't do any good to change it back to 12px because it will revert to 14px once I leave the Product Detail page.

I hope this makes sense.

Sometimes, for no other reason (not even if code is added), I will get incorrect font size. It is 12x, but it will show in preview & publish as 14x. It seems to be more common if I have copied text from my old site, or from within the site. Color sometimes changes too. It will be set as a dark blue in SCC Pro, but preview & publish as black.

I seem to have to delete it all, and just type it out again. :|

Okay, I performed another experiment to test Jo Ann's "stupid question" theory. :)

The result is the text appears properly (in 12px) after uploading to the server but still appears to be 14px in SCC. I have attached another screen print to show that only the HTML code and text around the code appears as 14px. Text near the bottom is correctly displayed in 12px.

I was going to conclude that the problem appears to only exist within SCC but can't be certain of that now after reading Bren's post with similar font problems.

There's something about placing code on the page as I tried your setup and when I click 12 font at the top of my page it automatically changes back to 14 after the click.

I had problems with the editor reducing a preceding paragraph from 12 point to 10 point when I inserted a centralised 14 point text after it. I have just accepted that the editor is quirky sometimes and looking forward to it being replaced with something more advanced in the future.

I agree Will, I've never liked the editor in SCC and would like to see a more robust one added. Considering there haven't been any updates to the software since November, It may be a while before new features appear. I suspect much of the developer's time is now focused on S-Drive (which I personally don't see much benefit in using). It may be time to revisit other shopping cart solutions.
