Hi again

I cannot figure out why when uploaded a site I am doing looks so much different. In SCD you will see there is no gap above the spotlight area image and the menu bar extends to the edge of the page area. So why when upped is there a gap and the menu bar falls short ???? :/

Because the HOME menu link is not showing on your shop page. When you enter your shop it places a HOME link on your menu.

Actually unless you tell it there is a Home page it will assume that the Shop Home is the home page. In the SCD all the links, images, spacing, menu items, etc. are all placeholders. They are not exact names and images as those things are entered in the SCC program so when you're creating a Theme in SCD you need to consider what is actually in your shop (menu expecially since that's an issue for you).

Create a Home page in your SCC program and put some content on it that tells about your shop and has some nice images etc. and that should fix your menu issue.

Hi SirAge

Are you saying I should delete the 'HOME' icon and link ??

The top image is the designer view and the bottom image is the browser view, this shows the 'Home' icon and link in the designer but it is removed when uploaded and viewed in a browser.

By the two images I see, you are showing me two different pages. One is of your shop home and the other is of your index page. I would do as Jo Ann suggests and make sure you have the Home Page setup correctly so that the shop knows you have a home page.

Hi Jo Ann

Thanks for your reply. I am somewhat bemused this time. I thought that I had created a home page with the banner and spotlight image etc. I don't want any other pages as my home page, only that one. How is the page I designed as a home page made into the home page ?? Or is it possible to create a home page with nothing on it which will redirect instantly to my 'Real' home page ??

This is all getting very confusing :|

I have looked at the optional web page, created a blank one and that has cured the menu bar width problem. However it has left me with a 'Home' link and a 'Shop Home' link on the menu bar. I do not want that.

In SCC in the shop settings, in the 'Homepage Optional' section, it says that if the 'Use Shop Home Settings' is selected then it will assume the 'Shop Home' is the homepage and use those settings which is what I want; problem is I'm then left with the short menu bar :(.

Is this making sense ??

You could always add another page for something like Contact Us and/or About Us to get the length of the menu back in there. Would actually be good to have those types of pages in there. That would fix it completely if you're planning to use the Shop Home for the home page.

Yes of course. I could add any number of pages it seems, however it does not get rid of the 'Home' in the menu bar. I dont want a site with 2 home pages. In fact I don't think I have ever come across a website that has 2 home pages. It would be ok to add the additional page providing the menu label changed as well to indicate what that page was about. It's no good having a menu item displaying 'Home' when it takes you to the contact page :(

Mmmmmm

Hi

A workaround for this shoddy programme is no background to the menu bar :/

Still leaves me with the product list background showing above the spotlight product area image though. All I want to do is shove that image up 2 or 3 lines.

I think I feel a migraine coming on.
