Hi, just playing about with RLM free trial to get used to the software, what is the best way to create menus on this?

And for my 2nd retard question!!! How do I actually add an image/logo?! I have added them to the design, but how do I add the actual image so I can preview how It looks? With Headings and paragraphs boxes I can simply just double click and edit them. sorryyy for being a dumbo!

You don't build a menu in RLM. You put an element in the place you want it to be as a place holder. Then you slip your code where the place holder is after export.
With images you put in the relative path to them in your directory structure.
All of this will show after you export the layout and add the menu and then do a preview with a browser.
Take a look at some of these articles as they should answer your questions.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Oops. I'm impatient and try to learn by getting hands on in the deep end! I guess I'll have to study a little for this one!

Where do export it to, to then edit the content in html? And how do I do it? It doesnt jump out at me!

Ignore that, ive found how to export. basically save it to my desktop, opne it up in Free HTML editor, make the changes I need to make and then save upload the new file to my host right??

Quick one about images, do I need to upload these to my host first, find then use the link / path from where about these are saved on my hosts page in the HTML? Seems a bit of a pain, is there not a way that the paths can be inputted whilst the images are just stored on my desktop and then uploading them along with the HTML file? Similarly to VSD works?

When you are putting image links into your pages in RLM, put the relative path as Eric already suggested in there. Make sure you upload your images to that path then on your server, or make sure the relative path is the path that you have your images on your server already, whichever is the case.

It's always best to have all your files in the same locations locally as they are online so that all the files are right there at your fingertips and all you need to do is upload the extra things that RLM doesn't do (extra scripts, images, etc.).

Yes that is correct.

Please remember RLM is not a website designer. It works nothing like VSD, in fact it is the total opposite of VSD.

RLM is a tool that should be used to create your responsive layout and then anything you want to add after will be completed in the HTML Editor. As for the second part of your question yes once you name the path to your image in RLM you would want to make sure you upload your images to the server that matches the path you put in the application.

Just about these image paths again.. I am copying the exact path they are saved on my desktop into the 'export path' section. Is this correct? As when I preview the page I just see 'image' still :S

Hi TM,

What you want to do is put them all in a folder called lets say "images" and store that folder in the same directory as your RLM project. Then you would set the path in RLM to: images/imageName.png

Then you would upload the entire project to your server including the new folder you just created with your images. Please note that you will not be able to view your images in your project until you upload them to the server. You will NEVER see them within RLM.
