Import web in RLM? - Post ID 250757

I have a copy of Responsive Layout Maker Pro for MAC. It's not been used and I purchased it on Sep 2014.
I was curious and wanted to see what it was all about.

I did not find anyway to use or import my existing CSS HTML5 based website. Do I really have to start building my website from scratch?

Wilford,

You can't import websites into RLMP. The program is used to build wireframe layouts for websites.

You then export the layouts and add your website content.

That's the simple explanation and I'm sure you will get a detailed answer from some of the serious coders in the forum.

If you build websites for yourself and/or others it might be a good idea to start with RLMP and eventually get Responsive Site Designer. (Which is coming out sometime this Summer. Or, as Scott would say, soon. ;))

Yes you have to do it from scratch, but it's worth the effort without a doubt.

Don't forget to check for updates as well as there have been a few since it's release.

Maybe I should wait for Responsive Site Designer. I understand that this is Responsive Layout Maker Pro and Web editor all in the same App, and probable more.

Hi fellow Norwegian,

If you already have RLMP, I would start playing with it and learn as much as possible in doing so. RSD is based on the same system, so practising with RLMP will kick start you when you eventually can grab RSD. :)

OK I looked at it today. I understand that this makes CSS elements and put them in separate CSS files. And it's all about design. I hope I can use all of the CSS features like rounded corners and shadows among others.

You can't do those things "within" RLMP, but once you export it you can add your own classes and such to do whatever you want to the elements including rounded corners, shading, and so on.

You can use the pre-defined classes found here http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/ … yout-maker to edit your layout as you see fit. If there is something that is not included in the pre-defined classes, you will need to add that after export of the program. :)

That's true, but a problem does arise when you need more than one class to accomplish the small things like rounded corners if you already have a class in there since the program hasn't been setup to let us use more than one class... hopefully that's a "yet".
