All,
I am not sure if this has ever been covered or not, but I have done some searches and can't find any material on this issue but here is my problem:
1) I just purchased a new laptop with Windows 8
2) I downloaded and installed HTML Editor 12.7
3) When I open HTML Editor, I get a pop up that says:
"Format Disc - No Disc in Drive E:, Please insert Disc"
Has anyone else ever seen this issue, if so, what do I need to do to fix this.
Also, HTML Editor does not run...it stops responding even if I close the "Format Disc" window.
Thanks,
Jared

Also, to further clarify, I have chosen to "Run As Administrator" - Even with this option the issue still occurs.

In win8, can you right-click and choose a compatability mode for win7 ?
Not sure if that will help or not, I don't use win8

Jared, don't know if this is related to your problem, but I have off and on the DVD drive open by itself. I know that someone else also has had that problem. But whether it has anything to do with the Editor or not, I have no clue, but I'll pay attention to it from now on.
I have win8/64.

This is a bug that someone found a bit ago, hasn't been fixed that I'm aware of, but what he found was this:
"This was the bug I tried to have you all replicate about a month ago... It happens after your computer goes into sleep mode. It opens your disk tray and wants a disk to be inserted. Did you have the HTML editor open?"
That's the only information I could find in emails that I recalled this issue being discussed last month. Hope that helps and if not let us know that too so we can be sure if it's only tied to the sleep mode or if it happens at other times too. Good luck on it

I changed the sleep settings but still no luck...
As soon as open the HTML Editor, I get the attached pop up...
HTML Editor is shutting down or going into a NOT RESPONDING mode. I hope this issue can be fixed quickly!
I get the same as what JoAnn was saying.
HTML Editor is running.
Put pc in sleep mode.
Wake pc up.
Disc tray opens requesting insert disc.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Found this, might be worth a check of your BIOS ...even though this was XP
i believe the problem to this is that when the computer starts up it searches for valid files to load the OS. in this case its windows xp. the computer is configured to search specific areas in order. i believe that your computer is configured to look at the cd drive or dvd drive first. when this happens and there is no valid info for opening a os (windows xp) it tends to open up. this can be fixed by simply changing the order by which the computer looks for information to load the os. this can be done in the BIOS of the computer. many computers have different ways in accessing it and it is recommended not to mess around with it if you dont know what you are doing.

BIOS trick worked - disabled booting from CDROM

In the old days, well, since win3.1 anyways, setting the booting order to cd drive first - or even floppy drive back then - and c drive next, caused the pc to search for the first one, then, when nothing was found, go to the next in line without any fuss.
