What happened to the view? - Post ID...
The old version had a way to view and visually move items around... Where did this feature go? It was very helpful!
Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to the program's Visual Editor. Over the years it had relied on controls that Microsoft had built into Windows but has been gradually discontinuing support for. In order to make the Visual Editor compatible with the new and important HTML5 web standards, we would need to research and develop a new way to program it — precious time that we'd rather devote to refining our beloved code editor.
We feel strongly about using the instant preview options when dealing with code. The split-screen preview shows changes on-screen as you make them, and the external preview can be open at all times in a different window (which is great if you use a second monitor). Try them! We're confident that you'll find these preview options just as useful as working with the visual editor.

hmm, i bought the html editor becouse of the visual editor. i was very helpfull the edit text in a long site :-(
Check out Visual Site Designer if you're looking for a visual program as that's what it's main purpose is. Taking the visual tab out of the HTML Editor has been long overdue with the issues it caused when swapping tabs, and now the HTML Editor can have more features for the coders which were not possible with the Visual tab as part of the program. It's becoming a very nice feature full program for the purpose of editing Code, which is what it's for I believe
Visual Site Designer is also a very powerful program and really the only drawback I have seen most people talk about is the fact that you cannot import an existing site. For starting new sites, or recreating your current site it's a super top notch editor that has a whole lot more features than the Visual tab on the HTML Editor ever had. Check it out, you might actually find it's much more to your liking

That feature will be in the next update of the Editor.

cool. tanks

I sent a note a month ago to support lamenting the loss of the Visual Editor in the new version of the HTML Editor. I was a bit upset since that was something I now admit I was lazily using. Not only did I get a response back the same day, but received a link to download the last version containing the Visual Editor. For that, I am both pleasantly surprised and grateful.
I've now seen the error of my ways. Not only did I not go back to the earlier version, but now have come to know and love the F12 function with the split screen. I've learned more about the underlying HTML just playing with that feature than I have in a long time.
Thank you CoffeeCup folks!

Congrats Joe!!! And please if you have any questions... We are here to answer them! You will have to wait and see what is coming in the NEW HTML Editor release, they already sent an E-Mail out about one of the features that allows you to click in the F11 or F12 preview pane and the code of the item you click is then highlighted in the HTML Document! That is a vast improvement in my eyes...
We all get a little lazy sometimes.
But at least you saw your mistake and are now taking steps to correct it...
