There have been several comments about the new tabs that are being used
in the latest version of the programme. I have been using it a lot since the latest version appeared
and some things are very apparent.

I do hope its ok for me to ask, and am i no way being critical, as the tabs are great but, for me, have a real disadvantage.

When I am editing files I sometimes have 10 or 12 open so I can see at a click what I need to...

However the tabs are shrinking to such an extent, that this way becomes unusable,
as I cannot see the full file names, they are not long, just average I guess, but the key elements
for me are on the ends.....

Could I ask, is it something the CoffeeCup team may look into, the ideal way, for me, would be to have the tabs displaying the full file names, the default tab size is fine. And once overload across the screen is reached, maybe a new row could appear underneath the top set...

At present, once the number of files open increases enough, tabs shrink, filenames are trimmed and cannot be seen..

PLUS...

The tabs expand when closing files, which is also a Royal pain....
As the disconnection from the mouse makes the 'X' area move away each time a file is closed, meaning you have to chase it again and again to close files.

There are other ways of closing files I know, but this way is very convenient.

I do hope its ok to mention these things, as after some time using the new tabs idea, a view on how it might be done in the future or not would be much appreciated.

I have seen the post, and am using the current version and also the 'lowest' tab width setting.

If I have 5 files open the tabs are fine, closing using the little red 'X' is a click click thing.

Once there are more than 5 files open the tabs shrink each time another is added, and when files are closed, the remainder expand....

Its only when there are only 5 files open, the closing process is ideal...

I guess screen resolution would be a factor, but 5 files on my monitor is the break point
that leads to the tabs changing size.

It has been mentioned in the past I know, but somehow the issue hasn't been answered. The visibility of open file names is, I would have thought, quite important.

Just to add, as I am always not good at explanations...

The tab width at the minimum default size is fine and I can see the entire filenames perfectly.

No problems there.

Its when the shrinking takes place and this original size setting goes out the window, with CoffeeCup HTML Editor shrinking them to whatever it needs, and filenames then getting chopped off so they are not seen in full.

I wondered if the fixed setting could be 'Maintained' at all times, with no shrinking of the tabs as more files open....

I have the same issue. Also, the tabs were moved from the bottom to the top of the editor with the new version of free coffeecup html editor. Is there a way to move them back to the bottom as I've been used to for so long?
