I was just actually talking with Jo Ann on this as well yesterday. I really had hoped we would have had a lot more involvement. She gave me the 2 winners and I was going to contact them this week. I think you were actually one of them.

Woohoo! <Big air punch>
I mean, erm, excellent. To be honest I am surprised there wasn't more interest around this, considering the number of people commenting when the snippets were removed from the editor - which I think is what triggered all this in the first instance. That said, it doesn't really surprised me given the lack of action with things like this I try and do within my own business. I always try to inject a little spice into my company newsletters, like small, easy to enter competitions and even hidden object type games. I back them up with what I think are decent prizes (external hard drives, gadgets, computer peripherals and similar hardware). Out of about a thousand who have signed up to receive the newsletters, I only get, on average, about three to five people responding. Perhaps folks don't get excited these days over seemingly trivial prizes, although thousands took part in the Easter Egg hunt here and seemed satisfied with prizes under dollars. I don't pretend to understand why this happens, though I'd really like to know.
Perhaps it is a sign of the recession still affecting people, though you'd think the offer of free stuff would be greater now than in 'normal' times. Perhaps people are too cynical, thinking there must be a hidden catch. Maybe they just don't need the prizes; as for myself, I like entering things like that and having a bit of fun. Anyway, if I did 'win' something, then great. If not, I had some fun and if people found the snippets useful, that's enough reward anyway. Good luck with the launch of 2010 editor and I hope it proves to be as successful as it always has been.
PS: By the way, this has probably been asked elsewhere as well, does the SE designation mean there will be another, different edition developed or released as well?
Thanks

SE actually stands for "Second Edition". This was the second release of the 2010 Editor. Not sure what we will do for the third edition as TE just sounds strange.
