I have read some of the post hear about the differences between "preview" and real browsers. What I'm seeing is that the "preview" is SO different in font sizes as to make it worthless to use, it's not even in the same ball park. And it's not just this or that browser it's ALL browsers.
The manual says the "preview" is an internal version of IE, but if you look at you code in the actual IE installed on your system the fonts size differences are on a magnitude of 3X, I don't mean 3 points but 3 times physical height larger in the "preview" compared to what you get in ANY browser I tried and I have all the major players installed.
Is there any way to setup the "split screen" feature to actually let you use an REAL browser installed on your system. While you can "send" to your installed browsers (and I do for a real look see) it's not the most interactive easy way to work.
There has got to be some way to setup the "preview" browser so that at least the font sizes match so it's useful for layout design

I don't see this problem when I use the program Joel, are you sure you don't have your browsers setup to a different Zoom level?
Also keep in mind that there are multiple versions of ie. I think CC renders the ie6 engine in the internal preview. It sounds like its a setting on your computer not the program. This is the first I have heard of this problem.

No, All the browsers I'm using are setup for zoom level at 100%. It's not the zoom. It's the size of the text.
I'm using FIXED width tables. If I set the font size to fit in the table cell like I want it using the preview, then when I look at the code in ALL of the actual browsers the text is way too small not even coming close to filling the cell as I set it in preview. If on the flip side I adjust the font size to look right and fill the cell like I want it in ALL the browsers, then when I view that in "Preview" I have text stacked and warped all over the place. It's like the size of the fonts in preview have no relation to what your going to get in a real browser (any of them). It's just TEXT that is not the correct size. All browsers are at default settings with zoom at 100%

It might be a setting on this machine but if it is it's in relation to your editor and not the browsers. I knoe this cause I can put a pice of the code up on our site and it looks fine on all the other machine in our office. It only looks to large in your "preview" . So if you know of a setting for your program that will let me adjust this please let me know.
I'm using Win7pro 64bit, dell M6400, quad core, 12GB ram, 500GB raid 0.
thanks

Are you using "em" for your font size or "px"?

Windows 64 bit is not officially supported at this time.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
"Windows 64 bit is not officially supported at this time"
There was no distiction or disclaimer when I bought the software. It said Win7 supported.
so I guess if this can't be figured out I can be my money back ??
It's installed as a XP32 emulation so it should be fine and all the browsers I comparing it to are 32bit.
I'm using the <font> tag as in <font color="#FF0000" size="2" face="arial">.
because of where I have to insert this code I can't use css, I have to use straight 4.01

It appears that CoffeeCup now supports both Win 32 and 64 bit operating systems. Sorry to mislead you.
