Please Help... I can't get a Grasp on...

Hi everyone,

I started with the "Deep Red" theme but have since tweaked it so much that there's really not much similarity to the original theme and I'm having an EXTREMELY difficult time getting the page layout the way I'd like it.

If you review this link: http://www.your-adrenaline-fix.com/test … ndex2.html you'll see the page I have been trying to get a grasp on all day long. :o

I have everything set to 960px but for some reason things are getting pushed wider than 960. (The header image is 960px as well)

What I'd REALLY like is for the entire site to be the width of the purple colored header but no matter what I do I can't get things to cooperate.

I've changed every variable in the CSS file but I can't get things to look right as the content is pushing things beyond the width of the purple header and I haven't a clue as to why.

If anyone could so kindly share some input on this, I'd be MOST appreciative and I do thank you all many times in advance.

Looking at your source and the source I get if I load the big Red theme I see that you have changed too far. That theme will give you what you want with a colour and image change with just a miner change to the css. The default css that comes with the theme just needs a couple of changes, You are not using that but a different one. You also have removed all meta information and also the origin of the page. I would advise to restart with a stock standard theme and make the changes to that . From what I see you have not got that far into the new design. ie. Change the image, Logo, Colour and you are just about there.

The advantage of using a theme is that all the work is done for you and you start with several pages pre designed. To take advantage of that just add the changes to make it your own. If that theme is not close enough then choose another or sometimes it is better to code from scratch.

The css files that CC makes available have all the objects covered so it only requires a tweak or to to use them to control the aspect of any page.

Hi Prism,

You're right... I have changed a LOT but I'm doing this in a way that I'm sorta starting from scratch with just a little help from Big Red and my main site (Which was a template).

Cal it a learning exercise (Note No Company name etc and still the Lorem Ipsum text)

I don't know nearly enough to start from true scratch so I guess this attempt could be seen as a "Bridge" between working with templates and starting from scratch.

I'm really thinking im almost there with what I've got, I just can't get the page wrapper to stop at 960px width (which is the width of the purple header)

If you or anyone else wouldn't mind taking another look, I'd certainly be most appreciative and I do thank ya'll in advance.

Thanks!!

The purple header looks to be only 900 to me.;)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Doh'

Thanks for pointing that out Rolly, You wouldn't believe how much time I've spent trying to figure out why the rest of it was extending past my ?960?px header...

Thanks again,

Oh BTW, I figured you'd like this: Nitro Circus is in movie theaters in 3D and it's pretty good... Worth the $12 so I recommend you go see it.

Rolly, I'm hoping you could please help me with one more element, then I should be able to muddle through the rest of it, (I hope)

Could you please tell me how I can get the Left Image and the Right Column text to move up away from the footer??

I'd like a little white space between the footer and the image or the right column text.

I tried adding margin-bottom:50px; to the mainLeft Class but it didn't seem to do anything...

I thank you again

I Got it (It's frustrating because I wish I had a clue as to what Im doing... I just recklessly change this and that and see what happens... Kinda a reckless way of doing things but I'm learning)

Thanks anyways
