Yeah I was pretty sure the preview windows have something to do with that save issue. I've been telling them that through this version and the last one I was testing too. I still wonder if the temp files thing is what's causing that too or if the preview is causing the temp files thing or... somehow they are tied together I'm almost sure of it. Didn't happen to me till the last version I tested with Inger and that's the first I saw the temp files not going away so I really really thing they are tied together somehow.

I still get that same index.html file showing it's not saved when I open it it the editor. I even did a save as and saved it as index2.html then closed the index2.html and reopened the index.html and the * was showing and the editor prompted me to save changes when I tried to close the page.:/

Edit: It has something to do with the preview. As I now have two files doing the same thing and the second one did it after previewing in the external window.

I also see the temp files listed in my project directory.

Eric, can you email me as many examples of these that you have? I need a few more for testing.

Ok, I have to ask.... IE has crashed on me 4 times today... First let me point out, I do not use IE at all except for it being the default on the Editor F11 window... I am working on a new CSS Layout Template and it has crashed 4 times already... Anyone else having this issue?

What was weird for me was that I was going from split screen to external preview and the editor some how open the page in IE. FX is my default and yes it has locked up on me a few times
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Eric, don't know if this applies, but you do know that IE is the default 'rendering motor' (in lack of a better word) in the Editor, don't you? So the external preview will always be in IE, even though you may have another browser as your default.

Blimey! :)

I have the update and............... typically, had no problems to add here.

Well, in a way, its strangly nice to know I wasnt goin mad... what with disappearing text and asterisks being there or even NOT being there..., when a file was flagged as in need of saving.

I have had a file flagged to save it, but no asterisk beside the name, I then 'cancelled' the dialogue box, and exit the editor, the 'cancelled' dialogue didn't re-appear.... The editor just exited normally.

Its the subtle differences in the way everyone uses it I guess. But I shall find one, I just know it :D

Yes, I know that but why did it open my IE9 browser when I exited the preview window? It just did it again when I checked to verify.

Edit: Now I just closed the preview window again and got a error of "A call to an OS function failed"

did it open it when you closed it or did you click something on the page that may have been a link that opens? I had that happen last week and thought it was the editor (it was in actuality since my default is Firefox), but it was because I clicked a link while testing the new preview features and it opened IE when I did that. I haven't had it open anything when closing the preview windows at all so far any other time.

No I just confirmed. I opened the editor and opened a HTML file then hit F11. I click on the red X for the external preview to close it and the page now opens in IE9.

hmm you have a local issue somewhere I think, I tried it and SirAGE just did too and it doesn't happen to us. Wonder what we have different than you do?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
