Just an FYI on a Ccleaner issue with...

It's an easy fix, so nothing major to worry about here, but just a heads up that the newer updates of Ccleaner have now added the HTML Editor to their list of programs they feel are considered Utilities and hence they are setup to clean the files.

This means that for some reason it's cleaning out the projects.ini file which keeps all your projects on your list, as well as any mru (most recently used) files.

To fix this just open your copy of Ccleaner, on the left tabs choose the Programs tab. Scroll down to the Utilities section and you should see the HTML Editor listed there. Uncheck that and that will fix this issue and you will no longer lose your projects list or mrus. (If you don't see the HTML Editor on the list, then you're on an older version and will most likely see it there when you update Ccleaner)

Hope this helps others. CC team has been diligently trying to track this issue down for a couple weeks until it was found by another user that it was tied to Ccleaner. The CC team is still looking to see if there is something that can be done to alter this so it doesn't happen at all, but in case they can't, or until it's found at least we have a fix for it.

Thanks to the team for all their help trying to find this issue, and thanks to SirAGE for tracking it down however accidentally it may have been! :)

Thanks for the heads up! Could this have some connection with the installation into the Roaming folder (which pertains to each user separately) instead of the Programme filse (86) folder?

You know, I'm really not sure if the move had anything to do with this or not, but it's highly suggestive since they added it to Ccleaner around mid January. As far as we know they are fixing it also, took a bit of finaggling with the forums and Scott in their support, but sounds like they are finally listening and fixing it so it stops removing the projects.ini file.

Just another update to let people know that the devs at Piriform that develop the Ccleaner program will be rolling out an update at some point here in the future to fix this problem for us. In the meantime, either make sure you check to see if it's being cleaned, or don't update it if you haven't yet lol. I'll post again when I'm sure it's been fixed :)

Is that the frying pan you are holding in your left hand in your avatar? Seems to lack the handle. Or was that after you threw it at those guys at Piriform?

Inger - Yep that's her frying pan (I did that up one sleepless night), the handle is hard to see but it's there. Unfortunately since I'm not artistically inclined the best I could do is put it in front of the hand and fade it a bit.
