While trouble shooting a page I was trying to insert a table I figured out that Coffee Cup's most basic default page will not validate if you insert a table. Try it. See how many errors there are.
While my inexperience may be a fault here, I depend on Coffee Cup to supply the most basic code, which should validate. The problem goes much deeper . It appears that attempting to insert tables into the themes they sell does not s work either.
What is wrong? Bad code. Please inform me.
I posted this first of all under Visual but I think it belongs here under Coffeecup HTML Editor
Have a great day.

Which program are you actually using: html editor or VSD?

My first reaction to this was: Insufficient information at best, disingenuous at worst...
The tables I have used in the HTML Editor have always validated.
Please provide a link to your page so we can see an example of what you are referring to. If your site is not live, please provide the code you are using for the tables that do not validate.
The HTML Editor is a general purpose editing tool, and as such it is always possible to to introduce incorrect code that does not validate.

Yep still need a link, what you're giving us for info is no where near enough to help you with unfortunately. Hopefully you have a link for us as asked above so we can help you more

Thank you for passing judgment about my character. You are definitely a loving person.
I believe you said "My first reaction to this was: Insufficient information at best, disingenuous at worst..."
Well, I have been in contact with customer support. There is problem that they are aware of.
Did you test what I said. I would like to know if you open a new blank page and insert a 2 col by 2 row table into the body if you get any errors. Remember, this "HTML Editor is a general purpose editing tool, and as such it is always possible to to introduce incorrect code that does not validate".
In other words, for simple people like myself we depend on the most basic instructions to yield desirable results. Otherwise, we would not need Coffecup HTML Editor.

Hiya Arthur,
Sounds like CoffeeCup team has it under control already so we'll wait on an update from them for it. Out of curiosity though, did you build this table yourself, insert it from external code or build it with HTML Editor's Table tool? I'd like to test this issue myself too and see if that is what happens to me, I'm pretty sure I have a table on my business site's home page that I created with the internal table builder which validates fine for me, but then I didn't validate it for quite a while so who knows if I changed the code at some point and maybe fixed the problem without realizing I was fixing anything lol.
If you built it internally in the program can you tell me what settings you chose please so I can see if it happens to me too?

Open up a new blank page using CoffeeCup HTML Editor.
In code editor I placed the cursor in the body section. I went up to Insert and picked "table designer." Saved the page. I was then prompted to enter how many columns and rows I wanted. I picked 2 col. and 2 rows. Then I hit ok.The table was inserted in the page. Saved the page and then I validated it. It came up with many errors, which I have no clue how to deal with.
Again, this is my simple test of a very basic task. This should be easy and straight forward.

As the validation errors point out, yes, it's bad code. It's generating deprecated code and in my case, it's trying to use xhtml code with my html.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
