IE8 hates JavaScript! - Post ID 197970

I use "Tool-Tip" written by Walter Zorn. With Windows XP and IE7, there were no
problems. Now I am using Windows 7 with IE8. IE8 does not render scripts
correctly (if at all). It is said that "settings" can fix this - what settings?

Where does it say that settings can fix it? Settings in IE or in the app. you are using?

And how about upgrading to IE9?

Why would we need to move it to the break room David? The guy is asking for help on how to fix the setup. I'm pretty sure he's talking about the default browser setup within the HTML Editor so it stands to reason that this would be the place to post I'm thinking. I don't think he worded his question very well is all :)

I don't see much of a connection to the HTML Editor either in this question. Seems to me that it should be addressed to Walter Zorn or IE8 forums instead.
Unfortunately, Walter Zorn died in 2009 and would be hard to reach. As far as I can see, his scripts have not been updated since then and there does not seem to be any other support for them.

A bit of Googling resulted in this, among other things:

The suggested workaround is to use a meta tag to emulate IE7... (hmmm...)

Maybe try a more up to date script? Here's a list of Jquery plug-ins from July 2012:
