You can not import into VSD, but you can use a site built with VSD and export it to HTML Editor. :D

Hiya jagweb,

Yes to the first and no to the 2nd.

HTML Editor can open pretty much any file that has to do with web design. All you need to do is locate the files that the VSD program creates (not the .vnu file, but the actual website files that end in .html and those that go with it such as images etc.) and open them in the HTML Editor. I would highly suggest making a backup before you start so you can always reload those files from the start again if you mess something up and need to start over.

VSD on the other hand has no import functionality at all for importing already created sites. VSD is a start from scratch only setup.

Hope that helps and have fun on the egg hunt!

No, VSD has its own type of files – .vnu

What you can do is open the html page from a VSD site in the Editor, but if changes are made, VSD won't "know" about them, so the next time the VSD site is edited/saved, those changes will not be uploaded.
Also, when you open a VSD-created HTML page, you'll see the code is quite different.

It is possible to use the Editor to create items to insert into VSD pages. There's an "Insert HTML" tool in VSD for this.

Thank you all for the quick responses. I have VSD and have been thinking of purchasing the HTML Editor. This info helps!

I mainly use VSD, but have the Editor, too. Comes in handy sometimes. I really like scrolling divs
Some people use it for blocks of text since they have more control over their text in the Editor. Easy to pop the text into VSD then with tha HTML Tool.
Take the Editor out for a free trial :)

You can bring another html page into vsd through a html box. You won't be able to edit it like other pages in VSD but it gets your page content up using VSD until you have time to maybe rebuild the page. I have a site built with VSD that one of the pages has a HTML box that has code completely made with the HTML Editor. I had built the page several years ago and have no need to rebuild a page that's all links so I left it alone and tweak the links as needed. I did place some graphics on the page using VSD over the HTML box to spice things up a bit.:P I would get the editor also. I'm about 50/50 with VSD and the Editor. And no that doesn't mean I'm neutral about which one is best. Their both the best.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
