Just a thought Melody, but does that path exist?
C:\Users\Erick-Melody\Desktop\markethog
C:\Users\Erick-Melody\Desktop\markethog
yes, it does exist
I have one page I have started on saved n that folder the one time it allowed me to save, plus I have some pictures in that older that are supposed to be included in the page, if I could only get it to save LOL
I have a feeling it is probably a Windows 8 issue as I used CC for many many years without a problem up until now -sigh-

I had this problem. When I upgraded to win 8. I checked the other user account and sure enough it was saving there. Try adjusting the permissions for the html editor in the icon to admin.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I don't know what to suggest Melody. You're probable using the windows-explorer pick lists to get to that folder, and the only thing that would prevent windows from saving that file is if that same file is already open in another window someplace.
Any number of different programs could be looking at that file and that might be locking you out.
Try that.. insure that CC Editor is the only open program and then try a save.

On the other hand, perhaps Eric has the right idea

How do I adjust the permissions to Admin? Admin is the only account set up on this computer thus far, it's too new, I haven't let the hubby or the kids on it yet
LOL

Hi Melody,
If you're using the Win8 tiles, Just right click the HTML Editor tile and select Run as Administrator from the bottom options list.
If you're running it from the desktop in a classic windows environment, just right click the HTML Editor shortcut and choose Run as Administrator from the options that appear.
In the classic windows desktop, you can also set this as the default by right clicking and choosing properties. Then click the advanced button and check the Run as Administrator default. Then OK your way back to the desktop. From now on the HTML Editor will always launch with Administrator privileges.

I don't have an icon in the class desktop view so couldn't try that, but when I run as administer from the win8 tiles it is the same error when I try to save my file.
Melody, have you tried saving to a different location?
I tried a sample page (Win8) and it saved to a folder on the desktop just fine, but there is a difference. When I saved it, the path created was Computer > C > Desktop > test-folder > mypage.html
(I don't have to right-click, run as... on this computer)

On Windows 8 here too, but I have specific locations that I save my site files so I pretty much know where they are going. What I tend to do is create a folder in my Documents file first, then navigate to it to save my files so that I know it's going to the place I'm trying to save it to.
Other than that, it's not much different than the file location setups of Windows 7, pretty similar.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
