Hooking a Form builder script to Form...

I have been trying to understand how this works and trying to follow the post on this subject.
To me there a gapping gaps in the explanation! If I ever write instructions, I always assume that the person I am writing it for is an idiot, so I explain every detail.
In step 2 it shows an icon, but I can't see any icon that looks like that.
I don't understand the bit about the Action, at least I do in the context of the example, but what do you put if it's going to your own site? Is it the intended page that you are going to create on your site?
I understand about setting the method to POST.
In point 2, I understand about creating the elements with the same attributes, but when you create a text input field you get an additional line saying, 'There has been an error'. How do you set them up, so that if you do not enter anything, you get an error message?
It explains what happens if you publish to the S Drive, but don't explain what happens if you publish to your own site?
One thing that I would like to change is that I want the text on the same line as the output in some cases. How do you do that?

Hi Rocky,
Did you follow these instructions?

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Hi Eric
Yes I tried but doesn’t explain about what to do if you add it to your own server?
Also I want to know how to use the warning text which appear under the input boxes.
On another subject, how are you getting on with that other problem for my website.

#3 in the instructions.;)
Publish your form to S-Drive (or your own server).

That page says, "At this time is recommended that you publish the form to a different location from your site. Conflicting CSS code might cause wackiness here so using a different upload location will help prevent this. Note that we are working on a solution for this."

That was October 4, 2018. Can I assume this isn't going to change?

I want to create a complex form that has information already shown in the blanks (via PHP) if the record exists, and allows the person to update that info--or add a new record if it doesn't. There may also be some JS for entry validation. For the life of me I don't see a way to do this using either Web Form Builder or Form Designer to create something iframe'd into Site Designer. It seems like my only option is to do the form entirely within Site Designer. Am I missing something, or is that my best option?

If you have SD then I would build my form within SD and skip Form Designer.

I thought so, but that leaves me without access to all the forms templates in FD, and wondering why I wasted the money buying it.

I was hoping CC would integrate Form Designer into SD at some time. I'm not sure where they're headed with it.
