Can't seem to get Direct FTP and Win 8 to work. I thought I did at one time but not now.
Why??

What exactly does Can't get to work mean? Direct FTP to load? Direct FTP to connect? Other?

Direct FTP Can't connect. I've used Direct FTP from just about day one, and usually know what I'm doing. Even checked the McAfee access. Times out from trying to connect. Connect fine on my Win 7 machine, Not the new Win 8.

It's gotta be something on your machine. I have Win 8 and don't have any connection problems through direct ftp. I would dbl check those ftp settings.

First thing to check is the Passive setting, that's usually what stops it from connecting if the rest of the settings are correct. I too am on Windows 8 and have no issues with it.

Morning Folks, Well,, I have finally got it all to work. I did the (check marked) the passive mode thing, and now it is working. Very strange, because it is not checked on 2 other computers. hmmmmm..
iI would like to thank all that helped. I'm sorta wiz at a lot of this stuff,, but after retiring out of the computer business 12 yrs ago, I think I have forgotten more than most will ever learn. LOL.
