I have the new coffecup direct ftp purchased and correct installed. When I'm starting to upload files the transfer window pops up and after the data are transferred the software hangs and stops. I can't find any parameter for additional set up.

I have XP and a new Dell with 1.5 GB Memory.

The software is hanging up because it is defective. CoreFTP is a free program and it has none of these problems.

Make sure you check that your windows XP firewall is allowing CC FTP through. I am having an easier time after changing that. Right click on your network icon choose properties right click on your network connection and choose properties again then go to the advanced tab at the top. Choose settings under windows firewall, the choose exceptions tab and add CC FTP.

A little harsh aren't your Bryon?

Hope this helps! Kim

I didn't think that I was being harsh. There are bugs in this software. When I used another program I don't have any of these problems. I wrote to the Coffee Cup support team to encourage them to fix it but they have failed to do so. I do use the 2006 HTML editor and it works very well. Since CoreFTP works flawlessly as free software, I would expect that a purchased program at least function at the basic task it was designed for.

Bryon - I had CuteFTP, Paid for and had nothing but problems. Got to say that CC FTP has never caused me any problems. However, each to their own. If you have found something that works for you great. However, I would have been a little more cautious in trashing CC FTP completely. The ammount of times I have heard people say it must be CC software because everything else worked before etc when all laong it was not CC but their windows configuration. Still, as I said, each to their own.

Hi all

Yep - Scott and the team are aware that there are bugs still to iron in the ftp program... I think it's in the queue - a bit of reminding and voting for what's the next job dont hurt though eh... ;)
Have fun
