Free FTP Crash

I just had the Free FTP open and was trying to connect. It was taking a long time and figured it was locked up. So I hard closed the program then went back to open it again and received the attached error. "Sorry--license has expired or is not valid". I rebooted my PC and tried again with the same result. I have purchased software via CoffeeCup but this program is free. I can assume the program has been corrupted. Could someone corroborate that thought or offer help or another explanation? I realized that I could uninstall/reload but I have several accounts saved in there and it would be a lot easier not to have to find the passwords and login info, etc.
Program opens on my laptop fine, but all my accounts are not on that computer.

Thanks a lot.

Free to those with a current and valid license? Nice... :)
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Just guessing, but..

Are you sure you downloaded the free ftp and not the free trial version? I ask this because the picture you show, has "Coffeecup Direct Ftp" in blue on the error - that is the paid version. The free ftp version should say "Coffeecup Free ftp". Well that is what mine does.

Can you bring up the program at all? If so check the top left corner and see what it says in the blue banner across the top of the program. That will tell you what program you have opened.

I actually tested and installed the free ftp 3 times this morning (without uninstalling), and during the process it asks if you want to uninstall. I said yes. All three times the software showed "CoffeeCup Free FTP" in the left corner, when it was opened. Plus all my settings were still there. I don't know if settings stayed because I also have the paid version on my computer.

Might I suggest that you download the free one again? Or look on the hard drive in the program files directory and check if you have both versions. Maybe you tried the trial version (direct ftp) and then decided to try the free on and have both on your computer.

Here are pictures I downloaded: yours with the error message and two I took with the paid version and the free version. Note what they say in the top left corner.

Your Error message:

Paid Version that generates error message if the free trial runs out:

Free version (not trial version):

You might want to go here http://www.coffeecup.com/free-ftp/ and download and install again. You don't need to uninstall the software first, it will ask during the install process. I pray that your settings are saved. If you did download both, you are probably safe of not losing your settings.

Best wishes. Hey if anyone has anything different please post. I am just guessing.

I don't know why this would have happened. I had FreeFTP first then sometime later I trialed the HTML builder but didn't buy it. I mean a while ago. Then this error came on in the middle of a session. I appreciate your feedback and hope no one else encounters this.
On the bright side I uninstalled this FTP and re-downloaded and installed the FreeFTP . All my old settings were there and all the accounts. So I'm pleased about that.
Thanks for your responses guys.
