Downloaded folders are empty - Post...

I downloaded all the files and folders for one website then moved the site to a new location on my host (making it the primary account), then uploaded all the files and folders to the new location.

To do this, I clicked on several folders at once. To my horror, the downloaded folders only contained file names.. ALL THE FILES ARE EMPTY so when I uploaded them, I had NOTHING BUT FOLDERS WITH EMPTY FILES

Most files could be replaced from previous local backup but 67 text files created since the last backup are just gone! If folders must be downloaded one-at-a-time, you should say so. Now it's too late. The files can't be recovered. I can't tell you how much this infuriates me.

How did you download your files? The best way is actually archiving them. Select all the files you want to download and click 'Archive' on the main toolbar. The programme will then download them as a zip file.
If you haven't already deleted the files from your old host yet, then try that.

You do not have to download folders or files one at a time with with DirectFTP. I move files and folders all the time with the program and have no problem. Many, many users use this program with no problems.

As Inger has suggeste, if the files are still on the old host, try try again.

Sounds like it's to late.
That is an odd thing to have happen. I wonder if they can replicate it.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I guess it's a habit I have from the time when PCs were new to me, but I always check what I have copied, transferred or whatever to a new place before I let go of the old one. Even if I move a file from the HDD to a pen drive. Better safe than sorry.
