Direct save to remote server - Post...
Hi there
I try to switch back to Windows. On mac i use Transmission. If i open a remote file to edit i can handle like as a local file. When i hit the save combo my texteditor save and done. There is way in Direct FTP? I prefer this way than the save combo then hit remote. Thank you.
Sorry for my english.

You can edit a file online with DFTP, if that is what you mean.

But when you save it, you can select whether to save 'local' on your computer or 'remote' on the server. But not both at the same time.

Inger, Gunsmoke thanks. Maybe my english. Now - with my knowledge about DirectFTP - if i hit ctrl+s the app opens a dialog window with a default local path. If i hit the save icon i get a newer option window with local and remote.
On OSX i simply open the file with my texteditor and when i hit the save combe the app save the file to the place whre i opened from. I if open a remote file save to the server.
This is an important feature for my workflow. DirectFTP is far the best ftp client for me but i miss(?) this feature. This is why i still on mac I know its a small thing but i need it....

If I understand you correct, all you need do is open your file off the server with DirectFTP, edit it, then hit the save button and choose 'remote'. This will save it back to the server. No problem.

No. I want to use simply the ctrl+s combo for saving the edited file. Working with shortcuts much quicker - for me - than use mouse. In the editor ctrl+s try to save the file in a locale path not to server.
Well, in DFTP CTRL+S will save to a local file. CTRL+ALT+S saves to remote. There are shortcuts for just about everything.
