The easiest approach is to only copy the script to a HTML box in VSD then adjust the src for the form location to absolute so it will preview on your pc in VSD.;)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Why use Direct FTP instead of VSD's built in FTP?
You can add the form files within VSD (Edit > Add Files). Use the HTML tool to insert the form code on your page. Under Publish, enter your ftp settings.
VSD knows what files it needs, when you click Publish, it takes care of everything.

If you're not sure about where things are going on the server, go to Lunarpages and log in to your account then go to your Control Panel > Files > File Management.
You can see everything that's been uploaded and how it's arranged.
Also, you can choose to upload files from within that panel.
On the top menu bar you'll see a folder with a green arrow (Upload Files). This option will let you browse to a file and click to upload it directly to any area of your site. You can also move, copy, download & delete files from here, as well as create new folders. ;)

Adding all the form files to your VSD site is setting yourself up for a lot of work that's really not necessary. Look what they do for S-Drive. My approach is the same and you get a local preview.:)

I didn't think it was difficult to add the files, just a minute or two and the form was in place. (...and I'm no wiz when it comes to forms :P)
Nothing against SDrive, but the form entry limits don't work for everyone. Sometimes it's better to host your own form/s and not worry about how many submissions come in, plus, you can have as many forms as needed . Right now, the only solution (on SDrive) is to go to a much more expensive plan – Shopkeeper or Total Pro. I'm working on a site now that will need more than the Shopkeeper limit (5) :o

Anyway, with VSD, there's usually no reason to complicate things with an additional FTP program.
As for adding the files... Doug could do that easily through his LP control panel rather than VSD or Direct FTP – browse, click, done.

When I got the form on the page it was jumbled. I went into the server and deleted
all files and folders associated with the form
I changed the form to popup and reuploaded to VSD. It worked except for the captcha since I had no keys.
I could not get them from the captcha site as was suggested. I removed the captcha from the form but have not been able to get the popup to work since. Even after adding the captcha again the form would not work.

Doug, much as I hate to say this, I think you are still not getting ALL the files uploaded. Or all the old ones deleted. The Web form Builder does work great, and is fairly easy if you hit all the steps.

I would suggest taking a deep breath, then deleting all the form builder files from your server.
Then go into VSD and select Edit/ Remove Files and make sure ALL files having to do with the form are deleted.

As far as CAPTCHA, there is a work-around. Simply add a 'required' checkbox that asks 'Are you human?'. Users will have to check the box to submit the form. Might not be perfect, but does cut down on a lot of the spam.

Once you have your form the way you want it, re-copy the code to the HTML box and place it where you want on your web site. Then publish your web site.

Go to the directory where you saved your form on your computer. There will be a directory yourformname_exported

Change to that _exported directory and you will see files and folders. Use DirectFTP to send all these to your server. They should be in the ROOT of your web site.

At that point, if all went well, your form should display.

Things to remember...don't use any 'spaces' in file/folder names. Make sure your HTML box is the same size your form will be and doesn't overlap anything else.

Let us know how it all goes. If it doesn't work for some reason, leave all the files you uploaded on your server, and post a link to your site with the form. There are those here that can look at it and tell you what went wrong. Good luck..

Tho the server folder was empty I went on and deleted the folder. If there had been files there they wouldn't affect VSD performance. Right
The files had been removed from VSD also.
I agree all files are not getting where they belong since I did get the popup to work before I had to remove Captcha from the form. I have never been able to install a working form on the VSD form.
Only the popup.
I even started over with a new file on form builder but that didn't work either. I was just hoping there was something wrong with some files.
I deleted the web form builder software from my computer and replaced it with the older version which installed itself to VSD even better than I rememberd. I thought I used to have to add the files manually to the Edit/Remove files.
Both web form builders have their positives and negatives but the older installs so much easier.
Thanks to everyone for their support. I might try the newer form builder again sometime but I don't have time to work with it right now.

Only problem with the old form builder is that it is FLASH.

Anyone with an Apple device (ipad, iphone, whatever) will not see your form.
Just keep that in mind ...

Hi,

I have a note on a website which says that if you cannot see these pictures or forms, blame Apple and complain to them. Af enough Apple users complained and stopped buying overpriced Apple product, first the prices would drop and then Apple would implement Flash.
