DFTP Skipping folders - Post ID 125476

Hi team

this was an issue years ago and was fixed but now we have a regression.

Check the following side-by-side comparison of my folders (on the right) and DirectFTP's explorer window on the left. Look down the folders for one called websites, which exists in my Windows explorer but is conspicuously missing in DFTP. Not only is this where all my websites are, DFTP cannot 'find' the paths when opening remote servers because it considers the folder doesn't exist, throwing up errors all over the place. Note also that the Microsoft Expression working folder called 'My Web sites' is missing in DFTP as well.

This bug was introduced in the last build but I didn't have time to post here until now, and this being build 1779 - the latest - the regression is still there.

Secondly, the ghost lines are still present in the details view - resize any of the column headers and black 'ghost' lines form and won't go away until the software is restarted. After a while this gets very messy. I first reported this bug ages ago and will keep doing so, unless there is no fix likely, in which case I won't waste my time (or yours).

Dave, what kind of folder is the "My Web sites"? I see it is a yellow folder with a globe on it. Is this a network drive or a shortcut to another location? I see it is something Express Web created, so I am not sure exactly what type of folder it is. Do you know if you can see that folder with any other FTP program?

I cannot replicate the lines issue however still.

Expression Web creates a folder in My Docs called "My Web sites". The folder icon includes the globe. It is the default directory for Expression Web projects. I am not experiencing this problem. DFTP identifies the directory and transfers files properly.

I added a network place using this method:

Direct FTP then shows this folder fine for me.

I guess I need to download Express Web (yuck) ;) and see what this folder actually is.

I installed Expression Web and I was able to replicate the issue. I can't see off hand why Direct FTP will not display this folder as another FTP program could. I have logged this with our developers and they will check into this next week.

It's just a standard folder with a specific icon, nothing special about it.

No, it is not a standard windows folder, it has special properties. It is actually more like a Network Drive/Remote Drive location.

Perhaps to allow for development collaboration but it doesn't interfere with DFTP accessing the files.

And...How do you know that, Scott? Have you crossed over to the dark side? :)
