I may be wrong but that message doesn't sound like a router or firewall issue. The program obviously connected to the server to return that error. Check the input for host, user name, password, and port.

Have you tried turning Passive Mode off? If so, then double check your setup in DFTP as I use AVG free on my little notebook computer and have no problems there at all, and I didn't need to turn it off at all.

Thanks a lot for all your comments, I have been trying to connect this for months now, but it remain the same. I have to try another FTP as suggested.

I had the same problem after downloading the latest Direct FTP. I was soooo frustrated. I checked/ unchecked passive mode; triple verified the login/password; then I changed to ftps & changed the port to 222. That also didn't work. So I changed the port back to 22 & received a different error. Progress at last. I then changed the ftps back to ftp & voila. Go figure?

Just letting you know what worked for me.
I should have something clever to say... but I don't.
