Can't archive site files? - Post ID...

My computer "crashed" while I was working on a site. Most of it is on SDrive, and I was able to recover some files from the computer before wiping the hard drive and re-installing Win7.
I did lose the HTML files for the site along with a few images and font files. Anyway... I'm trying to use the archive option in Direct FTP to grab the site files so I can rebuild my HTML Editor Project.

When I choose to archive the site file folder or individual files, I get this message:
The operation you selected is not available in this context.

Why archive them? Why not just download them to your new project folder? Just curious as you're going to have to unarchive it anyways right? Unless you're trying to get a smaller download, but I can't imagine it being all that much less unless you have a ton of huge graphics or something? Just curious is all :)

I tried the second download option but I ended up with just the index file and some content from other folders.

The archive option seemed best, since my recovered files are missing some images and all html pages. I'd like to grab the whole site (images, scripts, css, fonts...) so I can re-construct it.

If I download files, will that remove them from the server? Or will itdownload copies? I'd like to keep the live SDrive site intact.

I didn't try S-Drive, but the Archive feature works fine on my own server. Just created and downloaded 2 different archives. Works good. Linux shared host server, win7.

Rats! It seems then that archiving is not available for SDrive sites. :(

That may be. I just tested with S-Drive (sorry, I had to run to town) and got the same error you did. :P

When you download files from a live site it's just making copies onto your computer it won't do anything to the live site unless you upload changes so you are fine to download the entire site file by file and/or folder by folder and then you'll have the entire site that way. :)

Thanks, Jo Ann. That's what I'll do.
