Every time I make one small change to one page on my website, it causes all kinds of other problems on pages I didn't even touch. This happens repeatedly. My website is www.hotroddynamics.com I made a change to the home page, now I have photos and slideshows on other pages that were working fine and now aren't . For example. The slide shows on these pages now just show blank.

http://www.hotroddynamics.com/Strickland57Ford.html
http://www.hotroddynamics.com/RK65Mustang.html

These pages get a 404 error.

Also on this page, the thumbnail photo for the 56 Corvette is not showing.

Everything works right in the VSD program and previews correctly. It all worked before I published this latest revision to the home page. ItI get the successfully published message. I have tried re publishing. I am very tired of chasing these constant problems with VSD. I got this program thinking that it would be trouble free, but it has been anything but that.

One issue I see there Joseph is you are using invalid characters for file names. See all those %20's? Those are spaces. You shouldn't be using a space in a file name. Alpha numeric characters only and dashes/underscores.

What you have to do is in VSD, locate those galleries, select them and click the Objects Toolbar Icon and then click Remove Flash. Now you need to go into Photo Gallery and rename your gallery and make sure no images are using invalid characters as well.

Once you fix that, use the Add Flash Tool to add them back and then Re-Sync your website.

Scott you know this happened to me recently, well we proved it was Just Host doing an update / change

your correct those spaces were a contributory factor, the JH change made them all fail

I'm using Go-daddy for my hosting service. Do you think I will have better luck using the S-Drive? I've noticed that some of the photos in the online store I am working on with shopping cart creator are also messed up.

Joseph, everything on SDRIVE is a lot simpler,CC are going to great lengths to make it so

If your planning one website only, so cost is not such an issue i would strongly recommend it

Re present website, have you played around with the designer program SCDP even if you just use a FREE trial download for a day or two, and tinker with the thumbnail settings, your images being increased in size would dramatically improve your saleability, for such LARGE products

It may end up with just two items across the page , but a big thumbnail picture for your items would be a huge benefit to your customers first impression.

PS edit : should mention increasing thumbnail in SCDP will require you replacing the images with bigger images (originals in each cart listing), as SCC MAY have reduced them automatically !!!

That is excellent information and advice! Thank you. I am working on adjusting the thumbnails now in SCDP.
Are there step by step instructions available on how to move my site from GoDaddy to S Drive? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I just found this.

Did that include about telling Google and yahoo etc about the chage (if you have good ranking already)

if not, regardless : dont tell google the yourdomain.coffeecup.com address

wait till its nearly finished and up to date, and register the real url with google and yahoo webmasters tools

Before transferring, have you considered buying THROUGH CC the .us or .net for the website

The one problem with SDRIVE is if you use your .com address you will not have email associated with that domain

You could if you transferred the .com to GMAIL and use it as an alias
