VSD will not open the website - Post...
I've used CoffeeCup VSD for my website for several years - and recently updated the entire site. I'm a semi-pro photographer and have been using Lightroom4 to generate web galleries that I then link my VSD site to. I've just updated the site with a simple home page, and 5 Lightroom generated web galleries linked in, all very successfully, and then added one further template and the software has crashed, and will not allow me to open the .vnu file. Oddly, the file date has been set back to 01/04/2012, and a new website called EkqGEdqUJKiHncAdLsBd.vnu created with today's date (09/04/2012). If I try and open the latter it says "The website could not be opened"; if the former, it comes up with the "VSD application has stopped working". What's going on? Help much appreciated please....
Try this.
Configure the shortcut to always run as administrator. Here's how:
1. Right-click the shortcut icon, and click Properties.
2. Click the Compatibility tab.
3. Here, put a check mark by Run This Program as an Administrator.
4. Next, put a check mark next to Run This Program in Compatibility Mode For: and ensure Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 is selected.
5. Click OK.

Hi Eric, okay I tried this (albeit I could only see Windows XP Service Pack 2 i.e. not Pro per se), with no luck, still the same. Think I might have to start from scratch again. Annoying and unexpected - guess the learning should be that I take more regular back-ups than I currently am. Thanks for your help though. Cheers
I know you said you updated the site, but are you using the latest version of VSD (7.0, build 24)? If not, download it before you try anything else

hi there, no I'm not, I will try that. many thanks
Try looking at saved copies in the backup folder mine are here.
I removed my name. You may find a workable copy if you save at regular intervals. Date coded. If you uploaded copies, are also held in the backup folder online. Fantastic of the developers to come up with that. I take my hat off to them
