Lisa,
I opened the page and saw no text overlaps in FF3.0.10. I'm running XP SP2.
When I tried to open in ie6, it will not open at all. It takes forever loading and I get Gateway Timeout errors.

Thanks guys for looking at my site and providing feedback. Based on your input, I think I'll do a quick survey of our members to find out how many of them have problems viewing the site. If a majority of them don't have problems I guess I'll let the issue rest. Maybe my sample of five users was somehow not representative. When I view our site from my work PC the overlapping is bad, whereas most other sites I encounter display fine. Thus I figured our site created using VSD was the problem. Unfortunately I can't change my browser and display settings there....it's set up by corporate policy, optimized for our own systems.
Lisa,
There is no overlapping text when I view the site in Firefox, however there are uneven spaces between paragraphs. Did you create multiple text boxes in this page?
If you created multiple text boxes, then merging all the text on the page into a single text box should solve your problem. If this helps, please let us know so other users can benefit. If not, you might also want to try adding shadow to your text. This is search engine suicide as spiders cannot crawl an image, but it eliminates ALL the technical problems that arise with viewing text in web browsers...
If you really don't want a shadow, then add a white one! You have a white background so no one will see it :-)

I'm having the same issue with text overlapping. I previewed in the latest I.E. Opera FF and Safari all are fine. However If I look at my site using I phone (safari) in a jumbled mess, and the percentage of the population using similar phones is growing exponentially so I can't ignore it. How do you merge all the text into one box?

Kev, the original poster was using a non-web standard font on her site. Not your problem at all since you're using Arial. This may be nothing, but I've found it's better not to have text boxes overlapping images. (Even if the text isn't overlapping, the actual box might be.)
Here's something about IPhone resolution (have a read through the comments, too):

You might try asking about designing/developing for phones in the Website Design and Development section. You'll probably get more help there specific to IPhone/smart phone site design.
Almost forgot - Nice site! Good information, too. Lock-bumping

VSD is only creates pages that work with displays set at 96dpi.
Thanks for the response Paintbrush, it looks like your right about the text boxes, but they overlap to give me the space I need. I was hoping someone could tell me how to merge all the text into one box, without altering the look of the site.
I don't know about merging text. I guess where you have some text close to other text you could put it into one text box rather than two (like the turquoise and the white text on the home page between the title and the pictures). the other thing you could try is grouping sections of text (Object>Group).
Doing a little more nosing around here... for me, the most "messed up" page is Services. I used the web-dev toolbar in FireFox to do some snooping. This page seemed to have a lot of overlapping stuff that's not visible just looking at the page (Outline>Block Level Elements). Checking Image Information reveals several img.jpg files created by VSD (usually when you copy/paste something with an effect/drop shadow to another page). Look in your Files folder... stuff like IMG_24.jpg. You can get around this by turning off all effects on the image/shape before you copy it, then add the effects after it's in place on the new page.
You could also (after deleting all the unnecessary img.jpg's) insert the original images instead of copying/pasting.
I went through this a few times before I figured it out. The end result is worth re-doing a few pages.
And you'll be able to see where your text is actually overlapping an image (or isn't overlapping).
Good luck!
