Hello,

I have just finished designing my homepage, and wanted to test out the FTP feature on this before I went any further. I setup all the settings correctly, and clicked on "publish". It keeps giving me an error! It won't upload. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm hoping that someone out there can help me figure out what to do!

I've attached a screenshot of the error I keep getting.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Amber,

Are you using ftp://myservername or just myservername?
who is your host?

Hello,

I've tried both ways. ftp://myservername.net and just myservername.net. My host is jumpline. Thanks!

Check your firewall settings. Try disabling your firewall for ONLY a few seconds and see if it uploads. Also verify you server settings to make sure you have the right host/password.

edit: if it is your firewall, don't leave it disabled. depending on the firewall, changes have to be made with it.

Hi fellow users,
I wonder if it would also help trying ftp.website.com
username=******
password=*******

Hello again,

Thanks for all the tips. I've disabled the firewall and tried again...nothing worked. So then I double checked my site password username, and those are correct...then I tried just ftp.ejol.net and still having the same problem. here's another screen shot of what I've done...maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I looked on jumpline and tried to find a folder to upload to (in case there was one. Does it say your suppose to upload to a specific folder such as public_html or htdocs , if so these would be placed in the WWW slot. could also try a foreward slash ( / )

Coffeecup has a free ftp program, could you try to set up a connection using that or other ftp client and see if it works?
Have you tried uploading without testing as well I have had it not work in testing but worked when I uploaded.

Or you could put in a support ticket by clicking contact us link....:)

I would suggest submitting a ticket to coffeecup. They are really good at trouble shooting these things.

I actually found a workaround situation. I just dragged and dropped the files from the editor into my ftp folder, and viola...

Weird how I can't have it work conventionally, but oh well at least it works. Thanks for the help and support!
