Thought I would put my oar in the water too. I upgraded a week or so ago also and the automatic 'uninstall' and installation of the new version went flawlessly. The program came up fine, read my website data, and I was able to use it without issue . The next time I tried it a day or so later it windows presented me with an error message stating VSD application has stopped working. After a reboot, it began working again. This has occurred a couple times now including today.

NOTE! I do have some other serious issues with my old P4 system having had some Blue Screen shutdowns in the past month or two so perhaps this problem is related to that. I will refrain from submitting a trouble report until I have my hardware issues nailed down. Just wanted to throw this out in case someone else has had similar issues.

To fix that, follow these steps:

1. Right-click the shortcut icon, and click Properties.
2. Click the Compatibility tab.
3. Here, put a check mark by Run This Program as an Administrator.
4. Next, put a check mark next to Run This Program in Compatibility Mode For: and ensure Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 is selected.
5. Click OK.

Well I have to say KUDOS to the crew at CoffeeCup. I have now downloaded the final version of VSD 7 and updated all my sites this weekend. Everything went almost flawlessly. I now do not have to log into my server to upload :), the FTP settings for each site stay set :), and the updates are simple as with previous versions. The new buttonizer tool is great too. My only glitch's were on the first upload it kept giving me errors that files were not found which were unused image files left in the folder from Version 6 (my fault really for not cleaning it out) and I have text shift on some pages. Other than that minor issue, I'm raring to finish the site I started with the beta version.

If you are having problems with VSD in anyway, I have a beta version I would like to send to a few people to test if these issues reported here are fixed. Please e-mail me at scott@coffeecup.com if you are interested.

So far, the only "problem" I've come across is that @#$%& copy/paste offset. I opened a second ver. 6 site in 7 yesterday and all went well (Windows 7, Home Prem., 32 bit). No shifting text or broken links, all images in place :) I have 2 more old sites to convert, but won't get to them right away - so all is fine for now. I haven't put VSD on my sluggish old Vista laptop yet, guess I better do that and see if it goes as well!

This is going to be changed for the next version: if you paste in the same page the element will appear with an offset of 10 pixels, but if you do it in a new page, the element will keep its original position.
Glad to hear the rest is going fine!:)

Why would you want if to be off 10 pixels in the first place? I would think you would want it to go where you tell it to go by the click of the cursor. "here, click, I want you here!" :D

That's great news, Lucia. I changed one link in a footer menu, and had to stop and think - why copy/paste if I have to go page by page to reposition the menu anyway :(
The other nice feature of the "old" copy/paste was that the copy was right on top of the original, so graphic elements (like custom bullets) could be positioned in a straight line by simply holding an arrow key down until it was in place. I guess I can learn to live without that one!

Steven - I'm with you on this - I'd rather have an option in preferences to set an offset, or have 0 offset.

I am having a dickens of a time upgrading to v7. ON a Win xp box. I made a new folder LogicResources -V7_Website and copied my website into there. Fired up the old VSD 6 and made sure it found everything. Installed VSD7 .
First problem it can't find all the files. Half the image files, the XML and SWF files can't be found. The image files that cannot be found were in a folder called prod. The images were moved to the root directory and the folder deleted. When you try to upload the website, it stops as it can't find the images or the xml files. Eventually I have to crash out if the program and it has created a new website folder. The attached image shows what I am ending up with. And each folder has its own VNU file. The original LogicNew_Website exists only as a zip file now.
I think there is a cleaner way to convert from one version to another. I remember moving from 5 to 6 and I don't think it was this bad. This time I need rolaids

I would suggest Raj opening a support ticket for this issue so we can look into what is going on there.
